A Silent and Solemn Vow

Failure saddened him,

he really took a hit,

but that wasn’t really it,

he closed his eyes

and envisioned her face,

while the entire town cries,

as her picture was plastered

all over the place,

there would be no forgiveness

for the captor’s sin,

but how could she have been so blind,

to not see the danger

she was putting herself in,

reality was realized,

and the young girl whose body

had been inhumanely brutalized,

was found,

the town was so quiet,

even nature made no sound,

he stared down

at the fractured body,

and he didn’t know when or how,

as he made a silent and solemn vow,

eyes bloodshot and red,

he would track down the killer,

and stop at nothing until he is dead.

This is so realistic with such sorrow, and pain! Gives me goosebumps...... Very vivid picture, Frank! And if you can make your readers feel the poem then you have really accomplish your goal, and that's exactly what you did here!

Voting up and ++++

I wonder how many vows you have made or have seen made. Where does your inspiration come from. Hopefully from knowing the darkness of man and not from over exposure to it.
