A thousand soldiers stormed the gate,
a thousand hearts sank, lost in fate,
a thousand dreams float heaven bound,
a thousand nightmares disarm and ground.
A thousand ants in caravan line,
search for shelter in storm survive,
a thousand beasts stampede in dust,
while hungry hunters wait in blood lust.
A thousand lovers in rapture make,
a thousand hearts sing and bodies ache,
a thousand demons lay in wait,
to entice the wicked for evils sake.
A thousand words can set free a mind,
a thousand hopes in love sublime,
a thousand prayers to heal a life,
in meaning give this human strife.
A thousand Hubs in two years find,
the beauty of words in writers minds,
a thousand thanks to all of you,
who bless my life with substance true.
Thank you HubPages,
and every mind and heart that has touched me,
on this wonderful journey of life.
Here's to my 1,000th.
