A poem, Looking back to nineteen ninety two

Source

We have Yelled, " No more "

After the election, I truly believed Humpty Dumpty could be put back together again

After all he's been one of our childhood friend's

There's nothing so broken that it can't be fixed

So let's stop all this complaining and feeling so darn perplexed

Our day's are gonna shine again for me and you

Just like it did after the election in nineteen ninety two

Remember when we all had good jobs and money to spend?

We're on our way back, it just takes time to mend

The unholy war. The weapons of mass destruction. The taxes lowered on the rich

Buba tried to put we Democrats in a muddy ditch

Then he stole the election from my main man Gore

Lordy that made Ruby unhappy and mighty sore

When Obama came forward, I started to listen real close

To be perfectly honest, I liked Hillary the most

But the longer I listened to Obama's words

I knew in my heart he not only could lead us but also the nerds

They fought him every step of the way

The GOP and some Democrats who had gone astray

Times are different today. The Gop knows either they work with my man

Or they will be ousted just like us kids who used to play kick the can

The middle class has stood up and YELLED NO MORE

We're coming back like never before

So all you people who shout GLOOM AND DOOM

Roll up your silk sleeve's and grab a broom

Let's sweep the whitehouse clean, ousting the old dusty lifers

And get rid of the crooks known as sifers

Get ready for Hillary in twenty sixteen

She's been my hero and hope, what a beautiful dream

A woman in the whitehouse what a blissful feeling of joy

She hates wars and all of the warmonger's toys

She's as smart as they come and she's got backbone

She ' ain't ' ever gonna lie to the nation and she'll keep Bill happy in his old home.

Well I think it's about time to update this political rant

Looks like Hillary is ' gonna ' run, she never could comprehend the word can't

Just think about the change she will bring when she takes that sacred vow

Women running for congress nation wide, men reaping the benifits of someone who knows how

To make this country proud once again. To put security first and educate the poor

No one left behind, open admission, never a closed door

So get ready, twenty sixteen is just around the corner

Women stand up and shout, " We're with you all the way. " Some men may even ' wanna' joiner

Well it's May the 28th, 2016, and sure enough Hillary is running against Donald Trump. It's been a difficult time for President Obama but he's prevailed, and will go down in history as a great president who got some things done while the GOP had his hands tied behind his back.

The only thing that can beat Hillary is the people not voting. So you democrats get off your duff and vote. If ' The Don ' wins we're in for an uprising and perhaps blood in our street's.

See you at the voting machines in November...

.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Ruby. I have been reading so much negativity about Obama's re-election lately that this her poem is a breath of fresh air. I like Obama but it's the American people who has to make up their minds.

I love it, Ruby! I am curious about 2016, and have been wondering who will run for the Democrats. My guess is Hillary; why else would she step down from her cabinet post? I would love to see her run, especially since the Republicans are in such disarray and totally out of touch with mainstream America. Let's hope your dream becomes reality.

Sending you warm friendship,

Forget all those candidates, Ruby, and their empty promises,

You are the ONE to RUN to govern the states and the provinces.

Because your no-nonsense ways instill the most confidence!

Promise! :) BTW - loved your great poem.

Hello Cardisa, I like President Obama. I believe with all my heart that he is a good man who only wants the best for America. He believes in equality for all people and so do i. I voted locally for some republicans who do a good job. It really hurt me when hubbers linked all democrats as alike and lazy good-for-nothing's I am glad it is over. Hello Mar, I can see a woman in the white house. A woman would never start a war, yet she could be strong on defense. I know i watched too much TV during this election. I was upset with the horrible remarks some made against the President. I have always felt a connection to him and his family. He was a poor boy who made it to the top. I admire that because my childhood was much the same. I regret calling republicians nerds. I have some good friends in that party. Let's face it, i was mad. Thank you. Your comments are always so upbeat and kind..Cheers..

So interesting to observe your political views, AE. Of course, I will vote for a woman. If you want something to be done well, give it to a busy woman. (The busier a woman is, the better she performs, while men can do only one thing at a time = my personal kitchen-philosophy.)

One of our provinces is run by a woman - Helen Zille - who is also the leader of our best opposition party (opposing the [incompetent] ANC). Only the totally brainless will not be able to acknowledge Helen's fascinating expertise in leadership AND the positive results of her actions.

Okay, you've got my vote for Hillary Clinton :))

Take care, Ruby!

Ruby, you know I love you dearly right:) I have no issue with Obama except for the mine that closed because of his EPA regulations. West Virginia is hurting cause coal is our economy. Coal is the reason that most of the United States pays cheap power rates, much lower then they would be without it. Coal makes a variety of products also. Its been hard working two jobs and I guess I am a little disappointed in it all. For all our sakes, I hope they can all work together cause none of us can afford another 4 years of Washington gridlock. Ruby, great points and a great write as always. Voted up, awesome, interesting, and shared.

Dang, I didn't know you worked in a coal mine, couldn't the mine do something to stop the poluting. We have a coal mine nine miles from me, they hire lots of workers and they did something to clean the air. Ricky, I am truly sorry that the mine closed, losing your job. Maybe the mine can be remodeled into clean energy. Just wait, you will see good times again, better than ever, i pray. The GOP said they will now work with The President. ( They know they must or out they go too ) Thank you for responding. I feel that we are friends and i wish the best for you and your family.

Although I have lost confidence in anyone being able to bring us back from the terrible decline we are currently in, I commend you for taking the important approach of reminding all of us to chill out on the complaining. I feel the same way. It does us no good to keep "going on" about who ultimately won the election. Whether for or against it, it is a done deal and complaining about the spilled milk won't put it back in the bottle.

Great job my friend.

Voted up...I mainly like the pick up the broom image and also of Hillary in 2016...I am not even talking political but the fact it is an image of change yet again for a country that I never thought I would see, first an African American in office and hopefully one day soon a women....despite our political affiliation or the way we voted...I have to say that Obama is our president...you can like it or you can hate it...but get a grip and help by supporting, speaking out when its productive, and really learn from each other. I hope Obama even learned things during all of this...and lead the way he feels is right for humanity...in the end its about humanity isn't it? If it isn't than what country are we in?

Hello Abby, Humanity is the key to unlock hate and prejudice. I must not be alone in my thinking, he won the popular vote and the electoral. I really believe our country is finally pulling together, oh there will always be naysayers, but the majority wants peace and serenity in their lives. Sorry to be contrary. There are many Americans who will be voting for Mr. Trump, and we are too far away from November to know (1) if Hillary will be indicted and stand trial (though it may be difficult to find a jury she would accept as her "peers") and (2) for a person who spent her time traveling the world as Secretary of State, many of us find that she did a lousy job of administering that one department of the government, and therefor find it undesirable to put her in charge of the entire Executive Branch and all the government's departments..

I am one of those who feel she needs to be accountable for her cavalier handling of sensitive correspondence, and who finds flaws in her resume.

Greeting from South Africa. What a great poem. For me most if not all politicians are corrupt, but some more so than others. There is one woman in SA I have all the respect for. Our public protector: Thuli Madonsela. If only she would stand for president. she would get all peoples votes I'm sure, so in your case if I could, I will vote for a woman. If you want something to be done well, give it to a busy woman.

Perspycacious profile image

Perspycacious 6 months ago from Today's America and The World Beyond

There are great women who have been fine leaders. Mrs. Clinton comes with baggage, as do we all. In her case I find the baggage disqualifying when it comes to leading the free world. I want someone who listens and leads, not someone who listens and follows with their own narrow self interest foremost.

always exploring profile image

Hello Nadine, I like the way you think. A woman needs to run every country, if so, there would be no more wars and equality would be the norm. Thank you for always supporting my writing.

always exploring profile image

always exploring 6 months ago from Southern Illinois Author

Perspycacious, I am sorry that you dislike Hillary so badly. I don't think there's anything I could say that would change your thinking. Do you ever wonder why she was the only Secretary Of State that was targeted for emails when Colin Powel and Rice both had private email systems that they used the same way as Hillary? If you think Trump will do everything perfect, you are in for a BIG letdown. He is so uneducated and he will never be our president. I welcome all comments, but your reasoning for your dislike for her is rather lame!
