A song written 7/11/11

A whisper

A whisper sometimes is never heard
because it comes from a need to tell.
Yet when nothing is said and silence prevails
It never has a meaning as well.

I see a ship sailing on an emerald sea
from the embrace of a white sand shore.
The waves flow from and infinite hand
as the sight varies a little more.

The vessel is determinedly heaven sent
distance disappears through embrace’s chase
some would say silence is golden
but in reality it is a waste.

My hands held you many times
yet they were numb not giving love.
My flesh was hidden inside the linen
Smooth as the silk of this white glove.

My heart beats all my regret
as the silvery beam from the moon
shines on my cold bare feet
through a window in this lonely room.

The vessel is determinedly heaven sent
distance disappears through embrace’s chase
some would say silence is golden
but in reality it is a waste.

I see the vapor in your breath
as I imagine your distance in every sound.
The words are not smooth as they slice
but I say nothing because my mouth is bound.

“I love you”, I must confess
I just wish I could have told you.
My words aren’t celibacy in intent.
They are fear of your silence too.

The vessel is determinedly heaven sent
distance disappears through embrace’s chase
some would say silence is golden
but in reality it is a waste.

Memories are painted bittersweet
so all I hope for is just a smile
but please …….yes please my dear
come into my dream once in awhile.

Someday maybe I will see your
face in front of my eyes awake.
Holding your hands tightly
I will imagine the life we make.

The vessel is determinedly heaven sent
distance disappears through embrace’s chase.
The whisper will be spoken louder
so as to not misguide your grace.

So beautiful, rich with emotion, and true. I wish I could hear it sung!

Thank you for reading. I sure wish I had the ability to put music to it.

I read it as a poem (not a song - but aren't most songs really just lyrical poems?)And I must say that it is one of the better poems I have read on HP. Very nice Flow.

Thank you very much for the nice compliments. It is meant to be a poem and yes it is lyrical. I look forward to seeing more of your work here.

Cheers
