There is a simple answer

To all my cares today,

When people, places, things or

Situations don't go my way.

It's so simple yet so difficult,

I seldom try it first.

It stays the final option

Till, with pain, my heart would burst.

When all my best laid efforts

Lay crying in the dust,

It is the final option

I try, only when I must.

When control and manipulation

And temper tantrums fail,

Acceptance is the only way

My heart will cease to ail.

Sometimes through acceptance,

The tables seem to turn;

More often, through surrender

There are lessons I need learn.

This I must remember, as

I trod my path today...

Absolutely nothing comes

That God's not sent my way.

Approval's not a mandate

To "acceptance" then, embrace.

I only need surrender

To trust the Master's Grace.

Acceptance is the Golden Key.

Serenity the door.

Oh, that I might sooner choose

To trust His Will much more.

I love the messages that come along with your poems. There's so much feeling in these and it's so true. We can fight these things all we want, but the second we put our weapons away and let our hands relax, everything always seems to fall into place.

Amen!! Beautiful words of wisdom. When we succumb to His will, not ours, do we then find true peace. In His Love. Thanks!!

Humble thanks, everyone. The lessons I need to learn often flow through my pen on to paper...messages for me to learn, apply, and share. It is a privilege.

You truly do have a tender heart and a lovely talent. I'm holding the message of your poem very close to me as I am struggling to accept my husband's passing a year ago. It has led me to try harder to know who God is and know his will. I will read your poem over and over!

Fossillady, I send my deepest condolences to you...especially this time of year is difficult...I lost a dear friend several weeks ago after a lengthy battle with cancer, and her surviving children are in deep pain right now, trying to make sense and make peace with her passing. My heart and my prayers go out to them and you, during this time! Hugs to you!
