Eagles are birds with a heavy body and large wings who prey for smaller animals on land or water. some may prey for larger animals, as well. The eagle is known to possess a keen eyesight, which is very helpful when preying for food from the sky. Due to their size and powerful claws, some eagles are classified at the top of a food chain as apex predators in the bird realm.
