After So Long - Poem
Need You Now
Our life is made up of memories that impact who we are.
After So Long
There’s an aching deep inside me
A longing for your touch
And the memories I have of you
Make me miss you so much
How funny in the daylight
Things don’t look the same
But darkness reminds us
Of how we both played the game
Pain seems to lessen
As the years go by
Funny how your memory
Can still make me cry
Small things bring you back to me
A smell, a thought, a song
But then I regain my senses
And I’m relieved that you are gone
Too painful was the life we had
Too many things went wrong
So why do I still think of you -- after so long?
