After the Rain is the Sun

After the rain,

The sun breaks through the clouds.

It was cold, damp and dismal.

Warmth and golden light now prevail.

After you left,

All was lost.

The entire world,

Seemed to be drenched,

With: sorrow.

A deep sadness endured.

Tears washed away the time.

Yet now time has,

Overcome these tears.

Happiness is no stranger to me now.

Laughter has returned.

Like the sun after the rain.

Time heals, doesn't it? All the pain, the breaks and the crevices the soul suffers

Beautiful poem!

Thanks Rahul. Yes, all it takes is time. Seems that life is a double edged sword of pleasure and pain.

Thanks Vellur for your kind words. My partner said that there should be a picture of a rainbow on this hub also! Thanks for the vote of confidence here. Seems you are both a united front -yet he does not care so much for poems!

Thanks Olde Cashmere. I am a bit sentimental at the moment (and it is starting to show here). I am getting married very soon. So here's to being emotional and coping with life. Your comments are most welcome and as always, you are very kind.

Nothing quite like a rainbow poem to lighten up a grey Belgian afternoon :-)

This hub grabbed my attention with the rainbow. It has always been my good luck charm. When ever someone I know and love has passed on, rainbows appear in the sky. Also, if I'm going through a struggle of decision (which isn't too often) and I need to know I am making the right choice, a rainbow.

You brought that out in this so well. This is special to me and I thank youf or sharing it.

So happy to be following you.

Thanks for visiting me here Shining. I understand the symbolism you speak of regarding passing on. Strange, painful or negative experiences become inspirational just as positive and empowering experiences do. Thank you for the follow and for your kindness.
