Afterthoughts - a Love Poem

Longing for another night of romance.
Longing for another night of romance. | Source

When you held me

Sweetly in

Your arms

You filled me

With delight.

I didn't know

Whether to stop

Or go on,

Accepting what

You gave to me.

I have wanted

To show you how

I feel

In many

Different ways.

I have tried to

Tell you,

Not knowing

What to say.

But as long

As I stay with you,

I will be alright.

Just keep me there,

And never leave-

Hold me oh, so tight.

When you leave me,

I feel so alone.

You seem so far

From here.

All I want is to

Be with you,

Always have you near.

And so, my dear,

Please care for me

Never leave me

Far behind.

Because the

One word I don't

Want to say is

Goodbye.

Goodbye means

Separation.

The word that

Leaves behind

A memory not

Forgotten,

A future

I have to find.

The time before I

See you

Again will

Always seem

Forever.

But the time

I will forget you

Will be

Never.

Never goodbye, just "see you later". Beauty in the words and how well you describe your experience with true love.

Voting up
