Ahorseback Unplugged..........

No ......this is not the name of a new band
rocking out on saturdays
Just a ditty about the new plague
you know ....the new blue haze

I was riding through town in the
evening shadows alone
And I began to notice a problem
as I passed by each home

A deep blue aura ensued from the
windows into the night
I had no trouble seeing at all
that haze overpowered the moonlight

And at first I wondered ....what new
world is this I see
Has the world run amok ......are our souls about
to be set free

And then I realized once and for all
nothing has changed
It just the glow from all the TV's illuminated
across the range

Once I pulled myself together and got my
horse back under control
I began to realize ........all those idle minds
are taking thier toll

Perhaps one day our universe will go into a
deficit of electricity
Shutting down all our media
return us to a world of simplicity

And as I give the horse her reigns she picks up to a gallup and the hooves echo across the town and between the buildings , heads turn as ahorseback moves through the blue haze of television glow and as window cutains pull back from the edge of the window ........yes my friends its a picture show going on right outside your door. You don't need that TV. unplug now , save yourselves from the mindless blue glow ..............

I hear you ahorseback, but could not help noticing the irony as I study your awesome lament out of the cool blue glow of my computer screen. No TV in this house though... Regards, snakeslane

I notice the blue haze when out walking through the neighborhood. Great poem with a thought we all should be thinking about. Thank you for sharing.

Now that is truly a fitting response! Too bad that guy who shot his daughter's computer didn't think to express it more gracefully like this! Excellent!

Voted up and awesome! You are so right. Nature gives a much better reality show than TV.

Love this poem for the message it portrays. Great writing content and wonderfully expressed. Yes, we are glued to our sets and miss the beauty of the outdoors. Voted up!

If you came down my street on horseback, every single one of us would rush outside. You paint a happy picture with this hub.

We should all dim the lights once in a while and listen the simple light of the past.

Up and awesome, ahorseback
