All Await

All Await

All await, with bated breath
the winter's agonizing death...
for tender green instead of white,
for spring to yield to winter's bite.

All await, both man and beast,
to sup upon sweet Spring's own feast...
long for blossom's to unfold
desiring all her glories hold.

All await, as winter's bane
holds captive all in frozen pain...
dreams of bud and bloom entice
to taunt and tease the solid ice.

All await, yet poised to run
to bask in Spring's most gentle sun.
Anticipation is sweet pain.
Tarry not, Beloved Swain!

All await Spring's fairest blush
and lust for sweetest tune of thrush,
to feel the hope that lingers in
the tantalizing dreamer's sin.

All await, with bated breath
the winter's agonizing death...
Your whisper, Spring, is our delight.
Swift now, banish winter's bite.

Exquisite.

Tell me Tender, your pentameter and structure are excellent, not that I'm an expert (I evolved from a technical degree to being an english major to a theatre major to where I am now, an art major).

I only know when I read good poetry off in my head, and there is a rhythm, that that is a wonderful thing, not to mention the quality of your word choices and prose.

Anyway, for a Southern Californian, I really know nothing of the season changes you so beautifully wrote about here - thanks once again for sharing what must be a beautiful thing...

Will.

Will, you are a poet's dream, Son! It is funny too, for I am a native Florida Cracker, nose-to-toes!!! I have had the wonderful fortune of spending time North, six years in Pa and recently, a month with my son in Maryland. I am addicted to season change...a lifetime in Florida was sensory deprivation at its finest! Thank you for your most wonderful response!

A beautiful poem anticipating the coming of spring tnderhrt23. It will be wonderful to hear the falling rain and the birds chirping once again.

"All await Spring's fairest blush" Wonderful line, and yes for sure by now we indeed do "all await with bated breath". Sorry I have not been around much lately but my charity to help both the earth and it's children has consumed me. And you being so lovely and a protector yourself will surely forgive me :) :P Still your fan!

Marina, so lovely to see you again! I have missed you! But I, of course, understand...there are things in Life more pressing at times than hubs...like the needs of others, to be sure! Be safe and do pop in, now and again...for we are not the same without you! Hugs!
