All That Love

His heart belonged

To two girls who were so lovely

Each one made his heart beat double time

He couldn’t make up his mind

Mary had blond hair

And cherry lips

Fine for kissing

And sent his mind reeling

Sandra dark long hair

Hanging like a curtain

Over his shoulder

Drove him crazy

He told them both

He loved them true

Now he had to make a choice

The night was long

And the stars above

Seemed to wink

And say it’s time

He wished that tomorrow wouldn’t come

For he loved both girls

For different reasons

They both made him smile

All through the night

He found all kinds of sorrow

Seeing Mary’s face

In the light of the moon

He heard Sandra’s voice

Calling to him so sweet

Which girl was he to choose

Which one would it be

Morning brought the answer

When he looked out the window

There was the cherry tree

Berries shining wet with morning dew

They were the color of Mary’s lips

And he knew which one to take

Oh, Sandra tears in her eyes

But what could she do?

She knew she’d lost

And so it had to be

Mary just made him smile

With a love so very fine

Go with the one who makes you smile and allows your heart to soar. Once again you have fashioned a lovely tale through poetry.

Torn between two lovelies! Tough but I'd go with what Bill said, pick the one who makes you smile and allows your heart to soar. Love your visuals--lovely cherries!

Up, beautiful and sharing!

Great poem, tough decision to make. I am reminded of a saying "If you love two people at the same time, choose the second one. If you truly loved the first, you would never have fallen in love for the second"!! Great write. Voted up.

WOW!

what a trip down memory Lane! That's how they did it in the good old 60's! Great video, great inspiration for your poem where one could feel this great decision that had to be made and only a sign from God could make it for one. Great stuff! The video left me with a smile on my face! God Bless. Voted awesome and up

Sigh..

love cannot be dissuaded - there is no easy road - no easy decisions..

decisions can so quickly turn from memory - to regret..

Human tale beautifully told, my friend..

I would not want to be in that position...to have to choose between two. Love can be hard enough with just one. Great poem, makes one think. : ) Voted up!
