All it Takes- a poem
All it Takes

A touch is all it takes to remove the anguish of a child,
a gentle stroke of the brow to quell the pain.
With minds uncluttered, innocence alive,
the loving hand of care a panacea.
A kiss is all it takes to remove all doubt in a man,
a gentle soft kiss of devotion, and flesh on fire.
With minds saturated in need, innocence long gone,
a man is but a puppet to desire.
A word is all it takes to stir men to war,
words of lies and oppression speak in all tongues.
With minds suppressed in anger, and hate risen,
men are but fodder for the dark leaders of faith.
A sigh is all it takes to realise our folly,
a calm time of introspection to look back and weep.
With minds overwhelmed with grief,
We are but sheep to follow insanity.
Sight is all it takes to see a world of beauteous potential,
one vision of kindness and compassionate giving.
With minds weary from the harshness of life,
It is time to follow love and human possibility.
It is time to surrender.
