Already Taken; Shy Enfatuation?

Written by myself in 1980, leading in to the last spring of my High School in grade 12.

Today the same thoughts apply, but unfortunately to nobody in particular right now.

This makes me think; was I too particular when I was young, or too busy?

Has that changed over the years? I think so, but in what way?

Finally published today. But does that even matter?

I hope some people through reading this, can find the BEST way to go, sooner than later.

Of course every situation is different …

How Do I Show what's on my mind?

I sit in my room

My thoughts in a trance

Wishing that soon

I'd get half a chance

For this girl I know

Is just my kind

But how do I show

That she's on my mind?

When I'm close to her

It's a beautiful mood

But my eyes just blur

And it's hard to move

She takes my breath

And makes me smile

I'd give her my best

And that extra mile

But, she's already taken

By this lucky man

And they seem to be making

A few little plans.

Jealousy strikes

But without great force

To break their love

Would only bring remorse.

What a really terrific poem. You write with passion, clearly speaking from the heart; uncovering feelings that may have remained dormant. Love your style.

It could be remorse to try and change life's course. You may as well try to dance with a horse. Thanks Timothy. When I read this the theme from Mr. Ed popped in my head. A horse is a horse of course ... This is a nice poem with thoughts of missed opportunities that maybe weren't at all. Thanks Bro.

Thank You Sage. I noticed your style of writing is similar to mine, and I like yours too; I think they also speak sincerely from the heart!

Micky, thank you also for your generous comment. I got to say bro, you have a sense of humour that would even make Mr. Ed smile!

poetlorraine, this one really is true. I missed that girl for years after finishing High School. In hindsight, I really should have tried to forget her much sooner than I did. I guess I really had a teenage crush on her! Thank you for your comment.

Thank you very much Ladybird33, your gracious comment means a lot to me. I do hope you will read and enjoy more of my work, most of which is poetry, even if not listed in that category.
