Always keep your sense of humour

I got dressed today.

Thought it would make me feel more alive.

Hadn't bargained on Hubbys' reaction,

Steps three paces back and exclaims!!!!!!

"Not the doctor today, is it?

Are you due at the dentist, my sweet?"

Very funny, my love.

You do lift me up,

No wonder I've loved you so long,

Always a joke behind every thought,

With humour you've helped me stay strong.

A few bad days .... a virus going around,

I nursed you through the pain of it first.

Now it's my turn, I feel like I'm dying,.

ER...No dying allowed,

Just a virus going round.

At least I have someone to lean on,

We are so blessed,

To withstand the tests

of so many years together.

I love you more now

Than when we were young.

It's grown, it's deepened

With time.

Dear Hubby.......

I'm so glad you're mine.

Aw this is such a sweet ode to love and togetherness. I say if a couple lose their sense of humor and adventure, then they have lost a lot. Keep smiling the two of you, I loved the picture of the cat, reminds me of my Tobey sitting beside me as I type here. He is a ginger Tabby too, so cute they are, cats. BTW thank you for buying my book "In Absinthia" today from my site, I am so happy to be off Amazon, they have been just a royal pain. Keep writing my talented friend, you make me laugh with this one for sure. Hugs to you both.

Ah, yes, how sweet...togetherness, especially in times such as you describe! Just knowing there is someone there is a blessing. I have been married for 35 years. Will have to take off a few days to tend to him near the end of the and next a couple of days, having knee surgery so... my turn : )

Voted up +++ and sharing

God bless, Faith Reaper

Lovely poem defining love and togetherness!

I can relate to this--Both me and my husband have good sense of humour. This is a great way to lighten up in difficult times.

Voted up!

A sense of humour is so important, even when we're not feeling well. It's lovely that you have your 'other half' to share with - make the most of it!
