Always the Key

By Tony DeLorger ©2011

What meaning life holds,

pales before the ideal of love,

not what it is but what it does.

Under its spell life is both secretive,

in honour of its intimacy,

and expansive in the way it radiates,

into a brash, harsh world of conflict.

Love, and the emotions that are heightened,

seek reflection, a glimmer of recognition,

and in finding imbues loves power.

Love begets love,

and like the ripples of a stone

thrown into a glass pond,

love captures all with open hearts,

radiating, searching for a glimmer of light.

Love cannot be contained,

it is a wildfire, consuming, enlivening,

enveloping hearts, and recognising potential.

In love I am whole, more than whole,

my heart forever expanding,

forever finding new places within my soul,

new expressions, new feelings.

My world has become an endless potential, because of you,

because you fill my cup,

remove my doubts and inspire possibility.

I find my heart yours, completely,

yet my love grows outwardly, endlessly,

finding love in the darkest places,

and a world opens to potential.

Love has always been the key.
