An April Poetry Month Challenge

Another year has passed...

Another year has passed and my children are growing up in front of me. I have taken on new challenges in my life and have centered my writing energy on finishing a Masters in Education.

I also have taken up teaching Middle School Science full time and find that this job requires almost all my energy. This new role has taken me out of the Laboratory and into the classroom and community.

I am sorry for not stopping by more often...

I hardly have time to write poems. I realized that the strongest motivator I have ever had was writing a poem/hub on poetry, on Hubpages, every day in April for going on five years.

A search within myself began with the first poetry month and has led me to finally follow my calling. Poetry helped me to find my place within this world.

The poets here on Hubpages create such a wonderful surrounding of support and I would like to apologize for not stopping by for such a long time.

So what to expect.....

I am excited to see how people respond to my poetry in April. I have been reading Gertrude Stein, George Oppen, and Lorine Neidecker. I have been absorbing so many contemporary poets and I am excited to see what happens when it is all wrung out of me.

Please stop by every once and awhile

This April

enjoy a cup of hot coffee

read a poem

Thanks for the update on what's happening in your life Jamie. You are missed, but real life, family and job are what is most important. Looking forward to some more hubs by you this April if you have time. Regards.

This April...(I will).

Sweet Hub!

It is well understood Jaimie. My life, a poesy. I can't get away from it. Hubpages is my Gumby. I can make a comeback and post stuff everyday, then it seems my arm gets productively, gently pulled somewhere else and my feet walk away.

You know, children lead each other along like that a lot!

My support to you, a mother of six grown children, a Mahsie to three, a fine artist, one who enjoys at least an hour with a good coffee brew in the morning putting it down, thinking, picking it up again- relax, your entering the most fabulous days of your life and I'll read when you write, and wait when you don't.

I support you, fellow Hubber!

Great to read something from you and good luck with your poetry for April! I'm surprised that time has come round again so quickly.

I'll try to come up with something too. I'm not quite as busy as you but life is fairly hectic.

Hope you and yours are fine. Catch up with you soon!

It sounds like you are embarking on a new journey, and I'm excited for you. I love poetry and all who write poetic lines that move and inspire us. My muse has been on vacation but hopefully she will return and I will have an April poem. Thank you for the invitation....

Hi Jaime, So happy to hear from you and your new adventures in life. I can't believe it's almost that wonderful time of the year. The poetry on Hubpages holds a special place in my heart because when I joined HubPages it was Poetry month and I had no clue. I just thought, wow, these people really love poetry ...and they do! It was what got me hooked on HP. I can't wait to read your new poetry for April! Peace and blessings to you and your wonderful family

I am looking forward to reading your poetry. As time passes and my plate fills with so many things I wonder how I will make it through the April challenge this year. I always do it on Wordpress because I have my poetry blog with them.

It is good to hear from you all. Teaching did not really work out very well. I am heading back to the lab. Thank you for reading and being my friends. Jamie

Sorry to hear that your teaching didn't work out well; your enthusiasm was certainly to the fore so it's a shame it wasn't for you. Never mind; you had a crack at it and that's what counts, otherwise you'd never know would you?

This is true. I am happy that I took the time to experience something new. But the experience is over and I am heading back to the lab. Well, I hope to have more time to start writing again. Thank you for all your support Ann.. By the way I still love your drawings. Jamie
