An April Poetry Month Challenge
Another year has passed...
Another year has passed and my children are growing up in front of me. I have taken on new challenges in my life and have centered my writing energy on finishing a Masters in Education.
I also have taken up teaching Middle School Science full time and find that this job requires almost all my energy. This new role has taken me out of the Laboratory and into the classroom and community.
I am sorry for not stopping by more often...
I hardly have time to write poems. I realized that the strongest motivator I have ever had was writing a poem/hub on poetry, on Hubpages, every day in April for going on five years.
A search within myself began with the first poetry month and has led me to finally follow my calling. Poetry helped me to find my place within this world.
The poets here on Hubpages create such a wonderful surrounding of support and I would like to apologize for not stopping by for such a long time.
So what to expect.....
I am excited to see how people respond to my poetry in April. I have been reading Gertrude Stein, George Oppen, and Lorine Neidecker. I have been absorbing so many contemporary poets and I am excited to see what happens when it is all wrung out of me.
Please stop by every once and awhile
enjoy a cup of hot coffee
read a poem
