An Escape From Death | Poem

After the day’s break

That introduces the first day

Monday, as it is called

The beginning of the week

Being April 14, 2014

On getting to the Bus Park

Once called El-Rufi’s Bus

To board the bus

That should navigate me

To my workplace

A thing holds me back

An excuse spurt

Why not buy water? I asked-

Moving away from the stand

Just enough, away from an explosion

That I heard a blast

From behind with a flight

The flight of human parts

With the spewing of blood

Cry and pain filled everywhere

But to my greatest surprise

I was without hurt

Not even a scratch

A sense has delivered me

From a terrible death

An Escape from Death

A day to remember

That marks a turning point

And even an exit of lives

Thank God, I was spared

How dreadful! It must have been so frightening, but God was looking after you. You must have been saved for something special. God bless you.
