An Intonation of Love

Do not look for me in the Casket,

Bedecked with fancy drapes;

I am not in the humility of the wooden box,

Alone, and abandoned in a country graveyard.

For I have been called to the Palace

Of His Majesty, to receive His Grace.

Now on my sabbatical in Paradise,

I swing from the hammock of heavenly pines.

No more elusive shadows or even songs of praise,

I now whirl to the melodies of ethereal bugles,

And basque in the glory of Lord Krishna’s flute.

Long was the struggle.

An indomitable will, pushed through the mists

Of Life’s sojourn;

Arose in triumph, in the supernal realm.

Now a kernel in your heart,

I lie in the fulfilment of your yesterdays;

Smile through your longing

For tomorrow’s golden dreams.

In your emotions, I will nourish the inner petals

With sweet whisperings from the Soul, while

In the soothing memories of your handkerchief,

I will dry your tears.

So until we meet again, until another

Shall feel my thrill in the cradle of her womb,

Let me be your Lantern Carrier;

An elder seafarer on the Way.

Pointing to the obstacles,

Let me guide you with the flame of Love,

Burning brightly in a Golden Boat;

Tenderly steering, to a repose in pastures green.

Another beautiful hub Manatita. I love the last stanza and how it ended.

Pointing to the obstacles,

Let me guide you with the flame of Love,

Burning brightly in a Golden Boat;

Tenderly steering, to a repose in pastures green.

Hello My Friend ~ You have done it again. The words to this beautiful poem made me think of my beautiful and awesome Mother who went to live with Jesus some three years ago. Your words brought comfort, peace, serenity, and a close feeling of her life beyond this veil.

After a busy day with grandchildren, one crying (age 3), one FAR too busy and curious (age 8), and one seeking counsel (age 10), I needed the peaceful video and the relaxing music. So…thank you of that.

I have started your book and am learning a lot. I really laughed at the advice to sing each day whether one can sing or not. That would be ME. I sing His praises everyday, and I am so happy that He does not require excellence in this area. (smile) Be blessed

Taiwo, Good morning.

You are very kind, Bro. I will remember you in my prayers a.m

Billy - Perhaps clever, yes, but I had not thought of it this way. Still, it's certainly a different approach to offer the same inspiring thoughts. Have a great Sunday, Bill and Bev.

LailaK - My Sweet Friend. Thank you. May many inner blessings come your way today.

Ruby - So kind of you, as always. Much love to you, here. Peace.

Doris - So glad that you bought the book. I wrote it with my life's blood. Pay careful attention to Chapters 11 -13. They cover all that the devotee or seeker needs to know.

Council for a 10 year old? Something gentle, I'm sure. Another reason why I feel so much love for mothers. Duty never stops! May you be filled with Peace this day. Love.

Faith, I appreciate the blessings. One could always do with extras. I need some more. Let us pray for one another.

My dear friend! This one calls for deeper probing. It is joyously lovely in its words and melody, yet there are strong meanings underlying each one.

As you may know, my online activity is limited. But I shall print this one out to reread. It deserves deep thought.

By the way, your illustrations are breathtaking, especially the first one.

I am quite taken with your poetry…the melodic feel and intonation with profound meaning that rests just beneath the surface. THIS is poetry. :-) I had a difficult time in choosing my favorite poet; however, Dickenson, Blake and Gibran are three from your list. I look forward reading more of your poems.

Simply beautiful! I voted it up, but had difficulty choosing between the poets, especially between Wordsworth, Keats and Blake. I'm glad you did not put Tennyson in there, too. Blessings.

A truly discerning statement, Genna, and a soulful bow to you for this. To understand beauty and profundity so well, you must be lofty and ethereal yourself. May you continue to inspire and give joy. I commend you highly.

Here's a thought. Your choice of poets are truly wonderful. I think I'm very Keatsean in my imagery, but I feel that Blake and Wordworth were quite spiritually advanced Souls. Still, it is a great selection, I'm told. Have a peaceful Sunday evening.

Hi Blossom, Good evening! All the poets are super-excellent!

Always good to see you, and to receive your loving contribution. Much love, much ...
