An Irish Tale- Poem by Rebecca Wood

An Irish Tale

I wrote this poem recently after falling in love with my Irish background. I might not be from Ireland but I have always loved the thought that my heritage came from such a beautiful strong hearted place. After I looked into my heritage I found so many common qualities of the Irish that I fall into. I am also part Native American but I haven't gotten that far. I suggest everyone should be in touch with there background. It could mean a big deal to you if you found out.

The wind danced across the grassy hills

Just as they did

The waves clapped against the rocky cliffs

Just as their hands did

The thunder roared across the sky

Just as thie drums did

The rain poured down

Just as their tears did

The sun gave warmth to the land

Just as their hearts did

Nature gave them music

And the Irishmen gave a dance

I am glad to inform that I have been waiting to visit the beautiful country of Ireland since I was in my early teens. I also have this dream of retiring there if things go as planned, but I have found that it is what you do not plan that makes up your life. I will surely be taking a look into hubs and I hope you have a very nice day wherever you may be.

Hi Rebecca.

I love this poem, but then i love anything to do with Ireland. It is a wonderful Country and i have many happy memories from my young years.

If you pop over to my hubpage and you'll find a few interesting hubs on Ireland including a 4 part hub of a holiday in Ireland that we did last year.

If you every get the chance to travel to Ireland take it, you'll never forget the experience.

Your poem is beautiful and got an UP vote.
