An Ode To The Yellow Rose

She was like a Yellow Rose. (royalty free,by Tongro Image)

This poem is about the beautiful artist that taught my mother how to beautifully paint with rich oil colors. She was gifted with the influence of the "Old Masters". Her life ended too soon after complications after being in a  motor vehicle accident in 1984. She even let me try art lessons. She was also a lover of birds and she made a sanctuary for them in her home. She had a strong relationship with her children, who also have the gift of art . Her daughter has also taught my children in their younger years.

In Memory of "Ilonka"

The cold rainy wind
Blows To and fro.
Taking for granted
What seasons come and go.
The fruit and the leaves
Fall from the tree.
But the Yellow Rose,
She will never wither.

Her petals,
So fragrant and clean.
The leaves and the branches
Are strong and green.
Through her eyes,
Beauty of the
Whole world
Was Seen
On a canvas
Created through the
Touch of her Soul.

The beauty of love
Is all she could share.
Wanting to show it
everywhere.
Now she flies
with the doves
Of Eternal Peace.
This Yellow Rose
Will never wither.

This Yellow Rose
Will meet
Her Eternal
Desire Forever.

...well I absolutely adore flowers so you certainly have done well here in poetic form - and what form it is - you must be a flower yourself because you know of them so well and with such poetic clarity and truth.
