An Ode to Rhyming Poets

"

An Ode to Rhyming Poets"

An Ode to rhyming poets would not be hard to pen
just find the words you need then make them all fit in
the dictionary's filled with many synonyms today
we can soliloquize and rhyme with what we want to say

Life is filled with opportunities for prose reflecting deep in thought
and often poets pen things some might wish they'd not
for the mind inside a poet is filled with heart and hope
with romance and pain and consequence, reaching for that piece of rope

conquest of internal fights and the scars of those they've lost
for every word a poet writes reflects some inward cost
But when a poet rhymes, they wrote with thought and care
That the words left for a reader might reveal a sense of hope left there

It's with these thoughts in mind this ode is put to pen
a look inside the rhyming poets mind might pull their reader in
to places of intrigue, or perhaps a peaceful mountain stream
The rhyming Poet inside all of us wanders in our dreams
