Friend or Foe?

Here's one hard to figure right from the go

But if you do, I guess you'll be in the know

If my truth is true

But it's not your truth for you

Is it not then still the truth?

And if my truth is true

As well as yours is too

Why then must we act like foes?

Very good questions Shanmarie.

The all out assault on an answer to this life question makes some of us retreat deep within and others of us reach out further . Yet the question is in all our eyes . Fear not- but go heartily into the life and the love you seek !.....Hub Hug !

Hi, Ed. Very true that some retreat and that some reach for more. It's all a choice, isn't it? Hugs back at ya.

Thank you, Kathleen. Funny how that works sometimes. Some things worth pondering don't need a big explanation.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. That doesn't make either one bad. To each his own, comes to mind here. something to ponder!

A great way to start my day. It took me till now to get my feet moving. It is going to take me still even longer to get my mind thinking. Thank you for sharing and caring.

Nice, Shanmarie. Good food for thought. Paul explains this very well. The baby has to cry and feed from the breast; uses diapers or pampers and so forth, but I do not do these, I hope.

Still, I would be foolish to deny the baby's Truth. Ha ha. Excellent poem!

I think this poem needs to be stamped on the forehead of every single person arguing over the elections this year. Great message!

Yes, Ruby, to each his own is definitely applicable here. Or, as my best friend said when I shared it with her, differing perspectives are often the root cause of disagreements that ultimately split people apart. Agreeing to disagree or to each his own might just bring people together again, no? Anything's possible.

Hi, DREAM ON. You think often, it shows in your writing. I've no doubt you'll cook up something good in that mind of yours.

Nice baby analogy, manatita. It would be very foolish indeed to deny a baby his truth. It certainly would not accomplish much, except maybe a lot more screaming and crying. LOL Oh, wait. Maybe that's exactly what people accomplish when they deny one another's truth.

Hahaha! Bill, I wasn't writing with the election in mind, but more generally speaking. However, you are absolutely right and I couldn't agree more! That's exactly why I can't stand talking too in depth with anyone about politics, especially individual candidates themselves. Sure, I've got my opinions, but I see no real point in arguing about them, which is often what a political discussion turns into.

Shan, you pack a lot of punch in these few words ...of truth!

I am reminded, like Ruby, too, because my mother would always say, "To each is own."

You knocked this one out of the park.

Hugs

Thanks, Theresa! Although. . .if I read it out loud, it is quite a tongue twister. hahaha

Very good question. Both can be true from their own perceptions. But each should try to look it from the other's perception also and try to understand it instead of negating it altogether. That's how friendships and relations develop.

You have presented the question so nicely in beautifully twisted words and lines.

Yes. Self-created. Always self-created. Yoga is the transformation of one's nature, no one else.

My friend Venkatachari M speaks of empathy. This comes naturally with the descent of the Higher Forces. Hence the necessity of Sadhana (spiritual practices) What a nice Easter this is turning out to be! Much Love.

I still want to ask many questions. I just don't think people want to listen. So I stopped asking question not to be a pain and try to turn my questions into poems. If you still have a few thoughts and time to share I am the same person you first met. I lied I am older now. I love hubs that are funny and creative. Then again I like any hub someone creates because it is an extension of them. No different than an arm or legs. Without those where would we be. Happy Easter to you and your family. May you relax and have a relaxing day.

Venkatachari, you just said something that sounds like something I would say. LOL It's also what keeps a relationship alive through the difficulties too, I think. Thank you for visiting and your sincere comment. :)

Hello, manatita. Empathy is a tricky thing, though. If one allows one's own inner peace and balance to be upset by empathizing with someone else, the relationship will still fall apart. If we choose to empathize, we must also keep it separate from our own problems No matter how much we truly understand and relate to what is happening and even if what another is experiencing is part of what we are experiencing.

You havea beautiful Easter as well!

Thoughts and time are both priceless to me, Dream On. Keep asking questions. Someone told me fairly recently never to silence myself when I expressed similar thoughts about not wanting to be a pain or about having my intentions so oftne misinterpreted.

And, yes, I agree that anything anyone writes is a part of that person even if it is a pure piece of fiction.

I wasn't necessarily speaking about friendship, but that is very true, peachpurple. Thank you for reading and commenting. :)
