As Time Divides
As Time Divides
By Tony DeLorger © 2013
Endless days ensue unnoticed,
numbers shifting in sequence,
time, but a meager attempt to support awareness,
know that we are here, in measure,
yet time ceases to exist in the now,
the only reality there is.
I search for relevance in this momentary life,
thought by thought, reality unfolding,
where past is but memory, but not reality,
where future is aspiration, hope, deliverance, but not reality,
and I wonder in my heart where thoughts amass,
thoughts of love, kindness and forgiveness,
lost from the present, marred by time's passing,
do they dissipate, as lost intention,
or do they gain strength and permeate the ever marching present.
All this I contemplate in my truth seeking,
a little lost within the anomaly of infinity,
and I stand hopeful I can acquire a cognitive mind,
as time divides my existence, moment to moment,
and my mind wanders the vast landscape of possibility,
little of which I understand,
yet I watch with an inquisitive mind,
attuned to the movement, each breath of life taken,
and time laying waste to my thoughts as they pass.
As I write the past sits upon a page,
and the present reveres its being,
yet what the future will say in its momentary present,
is anyone's guess.
Time is a tool of logic, not a framework of reality.
