As We Say Goodbye

Seeing the Light in Darkness

Source

Today I said goodbye

to my only love

between the days

and nights

hours and minutes

of my loneliness.

Though you barely noticed

time and time again

those second chances

dimmed my spirit

sadden my soul.

Bogged down

by the weight

of a bruised heart,

I’ve shuffled and drifted

through a daze

of broken promises

and false wishes.

So hard to part.

Repeated neglect

such a familiar story

provides sweet comfort

among the unknown.

As we say goodbye,

though I will not let you see,

my very last tears

of a long trail

have fallen to the ground

no more to come

for all my days.

I will stand strong

to face my tomorrow.

Your phrasing here is very encouraging. It has sadness to it but the optimistic end view is a learning stage in life. Enjoyed the hub! Voted interesting and beautiful!

I feel like weeping. Good bye are the two hardest words.

You are a very strong person with a giant Spirit.

Blessings, Sparklea

i am reading a book about How to Break an Addiction to a Person...and yes, people always wonder why we can't get away from that kind of relationship even if it's hurting us...

sad but impressive nonetheless...
