Awake, o my Mind, Don't Sleep! A Sonnet, Dedicated to Sakshi Davessar
Awake, o my mind, don’t sleep!
Dawn has arisen,
And the voice of Love heralds good tidings.
The Dance of Peace is calling: “Come! Come!”
Zephyrs sing the merriment of the nightingale;
The bumble-bee is alert to duty’s call.
Nature glows and sparkles,
Like a row of radiant lanterns;
Yet the sloth of sleep surrounds me.
Oh my Heart, Cry!
Enter the body's apathy, to burn my despair;
Remove all shadows of the night.
Let my Soul exalt you,
To magnify this realm of Light.
