BLEEDING HEARTS: A POEM

BLEEDING HEARTS: A POEM

They made our brothers headless
Our sisters lifeless with scattered body parts
Their nakedness flaunted in broad daylight
Legs and heads severed by the horror
Tongues wagging in shitty groans
Eyes gouged, weeping silently
The angel killed himself too

Kill me oh lord!
For the evil I heard,
Crippled my joy
Death chew us with great mercilessness
The heartless jump in ecstasy
Joy abound in their hearts
The evil they do
Rang the bell of destruction
At its wake
Multitudes lay lifeless
Bodies fly about like a wayward kite
Maimed, headless, blood-filled eyes
Men and women; boys and girls; tots
Who woke up with lips in your praise
Jaded by this heinous slaughter
Blood pour in gallons
As if of water
Eyes in shock-filled smiles
Smiles bedded in crimson-soaked sorrow
Open mouths in stern pain

Of what God are you, almighty one?
When our hearts bleed
Evil raped us
And your silent cheers we sip
Where is thy power?
Above, you view our slaughter
Evil rain unending
Our killing, routine

The slayer is our kinsman
He sleeps with his head on the cot
Sweet sleep cooking evil
He brags in his thirsty lust
Of how great our number he drains
Oh saviour! Of who is our Lord?

Watch no more! Act!!
Drag his tongue from his anus
Twist his head to the back
Let his back walk through the river of thorns
Let his eyes pop to the floor
Empty his sockets
Fold his ears like paper
Dump his open mouth with faeces
Make merry with his sorrow
Teach him a lesson of lessons

Bail us, we cry!
For we are like a tailless cow
Evil have maimed us
We cry you a river...

Wow! Thandi, this is so shocking but also a powerful narrative as to a terrible tragedy. Something needs to be done to stop these senseless crimes against humanity. This is a great tribute to the victims. Voted up.

An incredible piece of writing, we try so hard not to see it, but hell is right here on earth. For so many people in this world, this awful senseless tragedies just never stops. I really don't know what the answer is, but this evil eventually touches us all.

Hmmm this is very sad and it's nothing new to our ears. Don't worry God is there standing by waiting just to hear your cry. Tears are a Language that God understands so weep out your pains and sorrows. Someday God will avenge all these blood that have been spilled by evil men and women. It shall not go unpunished. The only thing is we cannot tell Him when to do so, we are not His boss but He is ours .

Thanks for sharing this with us :)

Thanks, Jodah. It is really painful writing about the suffering of the helpless and the innocent let alone see their blood poured and legs maimed. It is too wrenching and saddening that people could resort to such wickedness just to satisfy their unquenchable desire for power and control. So sad it is! too wicked and inhumane an act!!

Thanks, Frank. We can only pray for the best. God help us all.

Tobusiness: Yes, it is an evil of a great magnitude. It is just wicked that some innocent lives go wasted while many people feel unconcerned. Sometimes, i go down to tears in empathy.

Faith: I hope with faith we can overcome. This evil is really a disaster that plagues the innocent and the poor. The politicians trot about in ostensible show of wealth - stolen and looted wealth - while the poor are killed mercilessly because of their own selfish agenda. Sometimes, I wonder if these terrorists have common sense. Why don't they attack the politicians and leave the masses alone!?!?!? such wickedness.

Dear LadyFiddler, I thank you for your kind comment. I can't tell God what to do but asking why he hasn't intervened isn't a crime. It is really painful to see all these horrible things happen without asking why. Remember Habakkuk 1 vs 2

"How long, O LORD, must I call for help? But you do not listen! "Violence is everywhere!" I cry, but you do not come to save."

and Jeremiah 14:9

"Why are you like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? You are among us, LORD, and we bear your name; do not forsake us!"

What we all beg for is his help! thanks for stopping by.

Hi Ruby, thanks for sharing in this painful shore. It is really a tragedy! We can only pray for God's help cos i'm just sober. bless you all.

Alexander, you have created an alive picture of heinous violence, devastation and loss of innocent human lives ! Your cry and pleadings to the Almighty are heart-rending. My dear friend, when the evil can go to that extent of cruelty, the good ( people having divine traits and believers of common good )have to be hundred-fold fierce to counter it. The good cannot be expected to remain a mute spectator. The evil will definitely come to an end. Voted up.

DDE, ignored is an understatement cos the cause of our sorrow is the greed and lust of men for power. These evil men subject us to untold hardship and suffering while they feed fat of the proceeds that should be used to better the life of the common man. Just like the bible said man has indeed dominated man to his injury. It is a big shame that people who claim to be Christians mouthing loud sayings of outward show of holiness would wake up to swindle their own people. What then is the essence of proclaiming to serve God when your life smells of dishonesty, wickedness and heartlessness. These politicians go to different churches (places of evil) to donate stolen money and buy gifts for their pot-bellied friends in religious apparels. I shudder to believe that humans could be so disheartening, blasphemous, raffish and invidious. We are indeed hopeless and helpless because even at the extremity of the wickedness dashed to the masses by our dishonest politicians, these agents of death masquerading as freedom fighters target us for their show of calamity. Their stupidity must be flaming with so much nonsense that they lack the moral compass to direct them to their adversaries. It is so tearful that they use the masses (innocent men, women; boys and girls; kids and even orphans) to show their power of wickedness while the lofty men who have evil written all over their bodies lunch on our sorrow with open mouths of laughter; some even dancing just some hours after the bombing at a rally in celebration of a certain Judas back for another bite of the cherry. Life for the masses is really frustrating! Who sees such and keeps quiet? Only a fool does that!!

Dear Vocalcaoch, I feel sad too; it is a real tragedy and a sorrowful world we live in. A most difficult world of hatred, betrayal, inequality and survival of the fittest. The shame is, we all have same traits, fate and will definitely end up dead someday. Even more strange is the fact that some run around in puffed up gestures as if life is their birthright. It is when you see bodies of people who once sang to your ears fallen by vicious enemies who plan and plant the seed of death here and there lay lifeless bedded by sudden tragedy; then you will know that life is nothing. That we have it now is a reminder that we can lose it anytime. That constant reasoning and fact should spur us to good cos we cannot have it even with all the money in the world. Why don't we be good and touch lives to fulfill a purpose and gain that inner joy beyond joys. I don't have but the little i share with people gives me joy beyond satisfaction. How sad it is that humans bribe insanity just to cause sorrow flood the lips of others. The tragedy of death will befall us all someday and when that time come, some would have regrets they'd wished things were different. Even as we are taught daily from the lives of others who for a purpose divine, shaped and turned lives for fruitful cause, must them we emulate for a better future. I gladly embrace the teachings of Christ as a model and that is what nourishes my soul in these sorrowful days. Life is unfair! But, all hope is not lost. thanks for stopping by and most sorry for boring you with my too long words.

Harishprasad: I share your sentiment. Sad and worrisome is the life we live cos it is filled with sorrow. Sometimes, these troubles give my heart much trembling jitters and shaky echoes. We don't know but we know that the evil men do lives with them and will never be forgotten. What one sows, he reaps. I have no more words to say cos it is too tragic and painful a thing to write and talk about. thanks for stopping by. blessings and love.
