Back To Exercising

So I Stopped For Awhile

I had my fun

I relaxed every day in or out of the sun

I let my mind drift off and forget

As I slept later and later each day

Keeping the t.v. on

I got use to curling up under the blanket for way to long

No need to stretch I can still bend

I don't have to walk I still go to work

So I have gained a few pounds

I might have trouble butto ning my pants and tieing my shoe laces together

I know I can work it off in no time at all

When it came to eating I could of made better choices

So I covered my fears with two scoops premium ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate sauce and don't forget the jimmies

Maybe next week I will go to the gym

Stock the refridgerator with yogurt and celery

For now I will finish off the bag of Hershey kisses all by myself

Then it's no more Mcdonalds and fast food for me

When that day came to an end

Then the gym doors opened and you never went in

I never seen you walking down the street

I often wondered what ever happened to all your plans ?

Until a neighbor told me the ambulance took you away

On that early September day

Just before your birthday and she heard the driver talk

He was only 48 years old and should of walked

One paramedic shook his head and looked at his buddy

He was long gone before we got here

He never had a chance

I feel bad for the family

The poor guy you could see the fear in his eyes

Well maybe he went to heaven and he was just surprised

That he arrived just before he finished the last slice of Boston Creme pie

His hand still holding his fork as if one more bite and everything will be alright

Happily I have never had a problem with weight, but I do need to exercise as does everyone. Well done and a good message.

i have always thought it is odd that most things that make us feel good-become addictions very easily. Yet exercise doesn't. it boosts seratonin and released endorphins just like sex and yet it's agony to try to make yourself get into the groove. Things that make you go hmmm :o) you expressed that fight very well with this poem

voted up, useful and interesting. it's amazing how one act each day can add up to a year. I've thought to myself, if I gain 10 pounds a year, in 5 years I will have gained 50 pounds. This is a very profound hub and it will be read by many. The main key in my life is this: Never snack in between meals, or eat after 6:30 p.m. at night, and walk every day. This has at least kept my weight consistent for years.

Naively provoked disability by choice of discipline oneself in lazines . Encouraged or promoted ( (?! ) epidemic resulting in reducing population self- destructively. ( watch and observe )

Doctorhealthpres Each day we make choices I just hope they are for a better and healthier life.DDE Keeping active is the key.Billybuc I can eat and eat and eat and luckily never gain a pound. I use to run but that was back in high school.I think I just have a fast matabolism.In work I walk all night long.SheZoe The never ending battle with snacks and junk food getting off the couch and just being lazy and watching too much t.v.Sparklea You have been eating good and staying away from the snacks will definitely help.Good old fashion walking is the best exercise.Michael-Milec Very well said.We have to take care of our bodies if we plan being around for a long time.Thanx to all your wonderful comments and please try to do just a little exercise every day.Enjoy a wonderful day and have happy and healthy Easter.

Great hub! I am trying to get back in shape.... I did 45 minutes of pilates (beginners) for 45 minutes two days ago and my muscles still hurt everywhere! At least, I know that I am alive and I have muscles (kind of)!

kidscrafts Anything is better than nothing.Forty five minutes is a lot of time as long as you feel (within reason) a little sore .Be careful. Know your limits.Keep going your on your way.I got out and walked today.It is a nice start.My muscles sore too.Drink plenty of water that flushes out the impurities in our system.Thanx so much for reading.
