Be Who You Are

your feelings

your emotions

your thoughts

where are they coming from?

where will you take them?

where will you let them go?

your body

muscle sensations

your skin

your pulse

begin to feel

the air

as you breathe

as it moves through

giving you new

giving you new

sounds around you

voices of movement

birds and the wind

sounds within you

the voices upside

your thoughts

the pounding

your heart

the buzzing within

when you close your ears to the outside world

take in the air

the sea

the mountains

the trees

the freshness of life

take it in

sing out loud

no, out loud!

and hear your emotions

moving about

the action

of feelings in flight

the sky, the trees, the birds

all things around you

the people

their words

with all the world inside their heads

absorb the sun

as its warmth

seeps into your skin

the night

and the magic it moves

your way

and now

ask yourself

out loud,

who am I?

answer out loud

ask yourself,

what do I want?

listen to what you have to say

act on what you have to say

be who you are

Reflection and introspect. An insightful poem about personal growth, pain and pleasure. How often growth comes from stretching our comfort zone or going through tough experiences.

I'm glad HubPages is now teeming with poetry. When I started out here 3 months back, there's not much activity going on with regards to poetry. Which makes me think, I should get back to writing my own and add something to the 3 that I've published so far! LOL again, thanks for sharing :D

Beautiful. It is like the mix of waves and breathing, a meditation tape and yoga poses.
