Online writers can truly earn their success and real money

Writers responsibility

We have a huge responsibility to the public to uphold a higher standard of excellence, as writers who are empowered enough, intelligent enough, adequate, articulate, and well researched in our crafts. If we are to write poetry it shall be as creative as we can possibly muster up words, it shall be potent in its poetic message being send to our online viewers, and most of all it needs to be 100% original, and not an imitation copy, the same goes for that of prose.

As a online writer it is imperative that we think of our craft as being a messenger of the written word. We need to think much more responsibly before placing words into text format, and onto the screen.

As online writers we are to assist other writers in their indifference's of misunderstanding what is right from what’s wrong and by doing so we help to improve our guild, and craft over all, which makes things much more clairvoyant, and streamlined.

Those who fail to measure up to these kinds of things will fall by the wayside, while all others will seek to gain and improve as well as to achieve greater heights digitally on the Internet. Mainly because there are them all intrusive bot programs, that have a key functional role to weed out all the scams, the tricksters, and poor quality written works that gets published online, and anywhere for that matter. (Hubpages and Google's algorithms)

Earning as a Freelance Writer

Becoming an online freelance writer isn’t an easy task. It's a newer kind of career that is cut out for a certain breed of a writer. This type of writer will need to fully comprehend the factors of how the web works, how SEO comes into play, the usage of keywords (tips on increasing web traffic using keywords and more), titling, subtitling, content placement (learn how to position image content), and links.

Learning how to become a freelance writer today is something that needs to be learned and isn’t something that could be taught much about, unless a person is already an active online writer, and has acquired some basic understanding to how it works.

Youtube video making of your very own can boost your earning potential, while improving the relevance for your viewers

Experience counts huge

Online experiences of content placement, text publishing, video, and the usage of imagery all come into play as a freelance writer, unless the company or client they’ve provided digital works for is only looking to get text content delivered to them.

Earning as a freelance writer is tough but doable, you must however fall into certain time constraints, and fit certain job quotas, plus qualify for such a position online, and using various networks such a Elance in order to be selected by potential clientele.

Once selected you need to place into action your writing skills in such an effective way to churn out the written works, such a client has required with accuracy, and at their requested dates as well as pressing deadlines.

Learning to utilize Youtube to enhance your online articles

Youtube has become a online super power with Google taking full ownership of the network there and making it an ever more powerful tooling, and monetizing platform for all of its users who choose to partner with them.

Establishing a Youtube Partnership is what is imperative there if you are to become a video maker who seeks to get the maximum benefit from that of your creative and genuine video making efforts. To do so you will need to officially tie into it, your Adsense account, or begin one if you're not currently a Adsense affiliate member.

This is done directly from your Youtube channel's account page, and once your ready to monetize them cool videos you own 100% rights to.

Once such a thing has been done, now all it takes is a bit of subject matter research, creativity of video creations, and higher quality video recording tools, such as a camcorder, or screen recording tool. This is where article writers can branch out, and even seek to generate much higher quality articles, with pertinent video quality benefits, and earning them much more in terms of revenue via their Adsense account.

Note: If you try to utilize copyrighted material such as music, images or other videos, and more you must have permission to do so by the copyright holder, or monetizing it can be infringing and breaking the law. (Click here for the Official Youtube copyright center)

Very interesting hub, I appreciate the food for thought. I assume you are doing the freelance writing full-time, but is there a limit to how many networks you should be joining? I'm not able to devote myself full-time, but I keep seeing all these references to other content sites, youtube, and pinterest. I think it is probably best for me to continue here on HP until I feel more established and maybe branch out after that.....but again, I really enjoy reading your hubs and thanks for sharing!

@mpropp, you are right about establishing oneself for sure. Some of us come from very differing backgrounds, and expertise all together in life, some just wanna write about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness, other writers here may prefer to go the creative writing routes.

This is why its so imperative to learn to adapt to the growing changes of this online world, and for those who do so, they intuitively give themselves the best chances by far to achieve whatever success it is they are attempting to reach.

As you said branching out is what needs to be done, and after a person gets much more established in a single online community, and then off to the races onto another, and another, and another if that is what they deem as a method to making it, and surviving here.

You are a wise lady, and I commend you on factoring out that particular aspect of pursuing online success as a writer, and content curator.

Thanks for the awesome insight here, and I have written advice in those mannerisms of things, as you stated as well in other hubs about networking effectively. If a person learns the difference between balancing their online networking life, and that of their professional writing career, well then they are off to a great start for sure.

Thank you so much Cyndi, being an online writer is tough today, and mainly because most of us are in seek of earning something while doing it all, and it tough to see what needs to be done for many new comers, and also veterans here as the rules, and writing platforms keep changing and all.

im earning very little on freelance writing :) what motivates me is my love for sharing and reading though.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

Yes indeed Unknown Spy, it is pennies that many of us are earning today as online freelance writers, but its definitely something that improves as time goes along, and when our web locations gain much more reputability, as well as status.

Thanks for the comment and for sharing with me here, that's nice of you to do.

Vellur profile image

Vellur 4 years ago from Dubai

Very interesting and informative. Thank you for sharing. It is true that we earn very little but the joy of sharing knowledge that we have, our little creations, poems, stories is so immense. All this compensates for earning very little. One thing I like to say though, the creative writers are not easily found by our google engines!! Great write up, voted up, liked and pinned.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

@Vellur, thank you for the cool comment, and yes creative writers don't get much coverage on the web as a whole, and mainly because of the content levels, as well as the fact that web surfers are seeking for things that are mostly trending on the web day to day, as well as for certain things of interest to them by certain keyword terms, and all, and I know you have learned about such things as well.

The thing is even if you come up with the best search terms, our articles must have great relevance today, and in order for the search engines to pick them up, whether it be creative writing or not, and this is the reason for the most part as to why certain things get very little traffic if anything.

Google has a huge thumb on everything today, and if the articles don't gain good ground on hubpages well it may never make it onto the search engines as well.

Let's forget about poetry, unless we manage to submit our poetry onto web locations that share poems in high volume, many people are trying on Facebook groups but it isn't helping everyone there, maybe those who are the most favored by everyone there, you know.

So your 100% correct in what you mentioned, but there are reasons for everything and how it does or doesn't work online for sure.

Vellur profile image

Vellur 4 years ago from Dubai

Very true CloudExplorer rightly said. Thank you.

Mike, very informative hub. Having newly re-entered the world of freelance writing, the media is very different from my days as a copywriter in the 1980's. To aid in my endeavor, I have purchased one of the books you feature above. Thanx!

I have also sent this hub to my desktop as quick reference to the writing sites you so graciously offered in this hub.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

@bravewarrior, wow thanks for sharing with me in this manner, I hope that book you purchased works wonders for ya, many of the writers sites I have yet to utilize accept for Squidoo, I tried them but only wrote 2 articles there thus far.

Oh and I also tried Triod I do believe, wrote a test article there and it got rejected, but its all good LOL. I love the freedom of online writing, it is so cool to be able to earn your keep here, and the fact that we have no boss peeking over our shoulders is a plus for sure.
