Bedtime Book Review: Disney Storybook Collection

Disney Storybook Collection

Disney Does It Again

If you’re like any parent with young children, you probably have gone through a number of bedtime stories before settling on a favorite. Even when you do your bookshelf is so packed, that trying to keep the stories in any sort of order is next to impossible.

I used to read “Goodnight Moon” to my daughter but as she grew older so did her tastes and interests. Princesses, fairies, Dora the Explorer, and Barbie dolls are all crowded at the top of her list. I soon found myself buying books that I thought she would like, only to read it to her once and then shelve it with the other bench warmers. It wasn’t until my cousin brought the kids the book, “Disney Storybook Collection” did I realize that Disney has made bedtime easier by doing what they do so well. Provide entertainment all in one place.

318 Pages of Disney Classics

The hard copy book, “Disney Storybook Collection” contains twenty-one abridged versions of classic Disney stories spanning 318 pages. It also includes 200 stickers as an added bonus. It is a somewhat hefty book but does keep all of these stories together in one place making it a huge space saver. From “Bambi” to “Beauty and the Beast” and from “Aladdin” to “Pinocchio,” this book provides plenty of bedtime story options with Disney flair.

The table of contents displays thumbnail pictures from each story next to the title, which makes identifying the story fast and easy. So easy, that my daughter seems to think that she can choose a number of different stories as though it’s a 3-item plate at a Chinese restaurant. “I want that one, then that one, and then that one,” is usually how the dialog goes.

The illustrations within the book are true to form Disney originals. Crisp, clean artwork with vibrant colors, makes the story more engaging and interesting. You can see that for older stories like, “Three Little Pigs” and “Mickey and the Beanstalk” the artwork is more vintage looking which provides a classic touch to the collection.

Other storybook collections are also available depending on the child’s preference. There is a Princess Collection, a PIXAR Collection, and even a Christmas Collection.

Other Collections

Unlike most things Disney, you won’t have to mortgage the farm to buy this book. A quick Google search has he book selling within the $9.00 to $11.00 range. On Amazon it’s listed as new for $10.17.

Well worth the money, bedtime has never been easier.

Well, at least story time is easier.
