Bemused He Sits (poem)

Bemused he sits and wonders all alone

Refused the reason that it came to this

Entwined in bitter words had made him blind

Forlorn the heart which gave such mischief birth

Consigned to bear the weight of this mistake

Reborn the sweetness of their memories

Recall the echoes of the moments shared

Beside the dreams they made along the way

Enthrall each whisper flowing from those eyes

Applied in making time itself their slave

Aglow was promised sky the day they met

Unreal this treasure which was heaven sent

Although unsure what future laid ahead

Ideal had its beginning with a kiss

I love that word "Bemused" and I have learned to not comment until you have added your imagery and video choice. So, I shall return : )

Very lovely, Mh! That is a pensive pose in your imagery, perfect. Oh, I do love Luther Vandross and "A House is Not a Home!"

Voted up ++++ and sharing

God bless, Faith Reaper

Luther Vandross--we lost a great singer.

"A House is Not a Home", written and recorded by Burt Bacharack who is one of the best song writers who ever lived.

A young lover wrapped in the thoughts of what could have been. A truth, a reality and shame.

Good job, Martin.

Lovely, Martin, and such a great choice of image, too.

This is a really cleverly constructed poem.
