Better Stop (Can't Live Forever)

Better Stop

better stop
better not care
if you live forever
you're never...
gonna get there.
If you live forever
you never will fall
if you live forever
why live here at all?

better stop
better think again
whatever's out there
better have some friends
if you live forever
then you are a fool
forever never trying
to make forever true.

better live
if only for this day
will it be yanked from you?
only God can say
will you make it better?
or just live another day?
if you live forever
I guess you'll have your way

better stop
before you're turned around
before you know it
you're hanging upside down
before you know it
you're running out of air
before you know it
you are wishing you'd have cared

better stop
better not care
if you live forever
you're never...
gonna get there.
If you live forever
then you are a fool
forever never trying
to make forever true.

Each day is up to you.

I love this poem! I do keep trying to figure it out and feel increasingly frantic the older I get. But last night as I was falling asleep, I realized that the only true thing in this existence is love, and that love is the answer. I hope that is true in other dimensions of existence, but in the meantime, I have to live my life with love.

Someone in one of my Yahoo! groups said... "Everything is love and the rest of it is a desire for love." Or something similar. I liked that.

So, Aunt Kathy's idea is that this is a planet where everything evolves - and to that I would add transforms - but perhaps the medium we use to evolve and transform is love. Maybe?

Personally I would not want to live forever outlasting all of my relatives and friends.

What your poem means to me is to make the best of each day and look forward to another life in the great beyond.

Of course only YOU know what you meant in writing this poem. :)

That's pretty much it - a live in the now type message. As I recall it dealt with some conversations I had with a man we refer to as Mr. Distazo about a Technological Singularity and extra long lifespans it would create - indefinite. I think my argument was something like, "wouldn't it just be easier to have a soul?"

LOL Well, I'm sure giving it my best son! Day to day is all I have. Good job, CC
