Birth of Great Love

Birth of a Great Love

Yearning and searching for love they have hungrily wandered the world
Over and over again only to find something so unkind, partners blind
Unaware of a great love lurking beneath the shadow, the weeping, and the tears

Reality was shifting, stars were aligning, and fate was smiling down

Love would find its way, for destiny itself had sought not to prevent

One couple who wanted to bridge distance and time with such intent

Voices like echoes that sought to climb out of the shadows and find

Each in the other, that great undiscovered land where

Chance and luck bowed down and sought not to intervene

Happiness instead chose to follow, Sunshine erased bits of sorrow

Ambivalent lament took discontent, and found another to bother

Nothing but love they could see in the other, giving them freedom to discover

Greatness of soul, which could not control, hearts bursting with spring

Every song had new meaning; birds started singing, shadows quickly faded

Damning voices no longer, they found their love was stronger, than anything that

Might start to invade, they took heed but would never concede

Young world they had found, laughter profound, with smiles to melt any shadow

Weathering storm with ferocious new faith, and love unrestrained

Old souls with young love, blessed from above, riding life’s turbulent path

Restless and wild, yet tender and mild, compassionate few, with strength renewed

Love with them never to fail, for forged one with the other, promises and more yet to

Discover, a bond strong and eternal, unbreakable and true.

Your love changed my world.

I really like the sense of optimism in your poetry and how you build up hope from despair - tenderly, without forcing it (which seems to be your signature). "Sunshine erased bits of sorrow" - so sensitive yet vivid. Lovely! Keep it up, Erin.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I never realized I had a signature until now, so I humbly thank you ever so much for that! I suppose its a mirror to how I live my life, softly and tenderly building hope from despair. I suppose that's a wonderful way to look at one's life!

always exploring, im so glad you enjoyed this. I so enjoyed writing it. Love can be so wonderful and certainly the greatest shelter from any storm as well as the inspiration of most of history's poetry! (Whether it was love found or love lost...) I am also thrilled to follow you! Namaste'

Sweet Penny, you know you are always welcome back but thanks for commenting again! If it is a special gift I have its that some goddess is whispering sweet words into my ears so that I can write wonderful words on the computer to compose such depth and beauty. Otherwise, I wouldn't know from where it comes. But thanks dear sister and Namaste'
