Make Money Writing Blog Posts for Blogmutt's Clients

Yes. You really can make money online. We are doing it every day on HubPages. Although there are thousands of writing sites out there that promise to make you money, Blogmutt is real, simple and there are no tricks or gimmicks.

You generally write 300-350+ word articles on very specific information. If they accept your post, you get paid. It's that easy! Blogmutt has a database of clients that are looking for content writers to write niche-specific posts.

The client gives you instructions on exactly what they want:

  • Number of Words (generally 300-350 but can be more or less per project)
  • What keywords they want included in the post
  • How they want it written (promotional, educational, review, etc.)
  • The tell you what links they want you to include in your post
  • They will review and allow you to make required changes if necessary.
  • Everything you need is all in one place! Most clients are very specific.

If you are able to write for clients based on their requests than this is a great opportunity for you. Everything you need is right there. All you have to do is follow the directions provided by the client, write the post and submit it for review.

Many writers are making decent money by writing several posts per day! This is great for stay at home moms, disabled or retired persons, freelance writers, and anyone looking to make money writing online!

Check Out This Video Explaining Blogmutt To Potential Clients

Have Questions? Here Are Some Answers!

I don't live in the USA. Can I write for Blogmutt?

Unfortunately, at this time Blogmutt is only available to writers in the United States.

How will I know what to write?

Blogmutt's clients are generally very specific in what they want. They tell you what they expect, how many words, what keywords and or links they want inserted into the text, as well as a link to their site and blog so you can learn more about the company. The site also hosts a Writers Guide that helps writers understand exactly what Blogmutt clients are looking for.

Do I Own the Rights To My Posts?

No, the client does. By writing for these clients, you are "ghost writing" for them. You produce the content and you get paid for it. You Do Not own the content. The content appears on the client's business/personal blog.

Is This Affiliate Advertising?

No. It works like this: Blogmutt has customers that want blog posts written for them. Most times the client either doesn't have the ability or time to maintain their blog so they "outsource" the work to content writers. Blogmutt's clients pay for the service and Blogmutt and you (the writer) make money per accepted post.

Is This A "Content Mill"?

No. Blogmutt is a reputable site that allows clients to receive quality blog posts from qualified writers. Since the writing is specific to each client, each post is unique. Blogmutt checks for quality and spam and so eliminates such garbage. Anyone who abuses the site is barred from posting. Blogmutt takes pride in its quality of content and most clients are repeat customers. Blogmutt has a very high client/customer satisfaction and retention.

How Will I Know If I am Writing What the Client Wants?

No problem! Follow the clients guidelines, write the post and submit it for review. If the client wants you to add or change something they can review the post and make the appropriate requests or changes.

How Do I Know If This Is Right for Me?

As Blogmutt posts on it's site:

Our writers are a lovable mix of knowledge workers who just happen to be pretty good at writing and they like the flexibility of working in their own home on their own schedule. It's hard to find jobs as writers these days, so for some of our writers this is a way to get paid for doing something they enjoy.

If this sounds like you, well then this is a great site for you to earn on! People from all walks of life are making money posting blog posts on Blogmutt!

Do I Have To Add Photos or Video?

No. This is strictly a writing site. From time to time, clients may ask you to reference links that go to photos or videos, but you will never be asked to take or use your own photos or videos.

Do I have to Find My Own Clients or Customers?

Nope! Blogmutt does that for you! People and companies looking for content writers to post in their blog sign up for Blogmutt (pay a fee) and they fill out a form that explains exactly what they are looking for. Currently, Blogmutt has more clients than writers and is trying to get the word out so that more writers come to the site and produce quality blog posts!

Blogmutt is a great platform for writers who are looking for consistent and relatively easy work. There's no bidding for projects or any other hassles Simply find a client/topic you want to write about and submit your work. It really is that easy!

Is There A Minimum Payout? How Often Do We Get Paid?

This is the most common question asked. There's no minimum payout, you can invoice once a week and we pay once per week. The money is deposited into a bank account of your choice.

I Went To The Site But Can't Find A Link To Get Started?

Blogmutt prides itself on the quality of their writing contributors. To keep out bad writers, users have to do a little research around the site. This proves that they are serious and are capable of doing research! To quote Scott Yates (site owner):

"I understand that we make the writers hunt a little bit, but that's

part of our weeding out process. If a writer can figure it out, they

are probably good researchers and they can follow directions. You did

it, right? If we make it too easy, we'd get flooded with bad writers and then bad

posts, so our system does work."

If you go to the main site and scroll all the way to the bottom you will see a link for signing up as a contributor.

Hello Faith Reaper!

Nice to see you. Some may say that $8.00 per post is crap for freelance work but I think if you are a decent writer and can put in some time, you can get several posts per day and that adds up monthly. I have posted one post and it was accepted. My account reflected the payment once it was accepted by the client. The email is also answered very timely. I sent a question and got a response in minutes. I highly recommend Blogmutt!

Thanks for the comment, votes and for sharing! God bless you too!

I checked out the site. There is nothing for writers, as they claim they have their own writers. There is no signup for writers, nor anything about earnings. Everything I saw refers to those who want blog posts, who can read posts and supposedly pick ones they like. They pay 79 bucks a month for this. Being able to read posts and pick one or more, means they can also copy any post they want, and use it, even though they did not pick it.

Try this link LindaSmith1: https://www.blogmutt.com/pages/writer_help You are viewing the site from the customer's point of view. When you sign up as a contributor you get a writer's dashboard. I'll add a screenshot above.

This is the same page I was on. It is a sign in page, not a writer sign up page.

This is the page for writers: https://www.blogmutt.com/pages/writer

They also scroll down and click on link for application. No information about payments other than a point system is mentioned. I really have bad feeling about this site when they won't tell writers what earnings are, etc.

This looks fantastic. Thank you for passing on the good word. Every writer should watch the short video "single best blog tip..." He is right. I am constantly telling my students to read their work out loud to find their mistakes, and I follow my own advice with everything I write. I am going to check this out, as I have been looking for part-time income. There would be nothing better than being able to write from home. Voted up and shared.

Sounds great, but the only thing that worries me is how many times do they accept your work? Maybe as someone says above, they take yours and reject it, would you know if they actually used it after rejecting it? I had a bad experience on one site such as this, they accepted a few, paid me, said I was great then rejected me! after that I studied the other writers and they couldn't even write in English, it was appalling! saying that I will go and take a look, and good luck, if it works for you then that's great, nell

This sounds very interesting. If a person could do just one a day that would be around $240 month. That's more than I am making here. I wouldn't leave HubPages because I really, really enjoy it here, but being semi-retired, a little extra money doesn't hurt. I think I will check it out. Thank you for the information! :) Up and interesting!

I never heard of this site before. It sounds like textbroker, but I found the textbroker assignments to be annoy and time consuming just to find one you can follow. I've submitted to blogmutt to check them out. Thanks for sharing this info.

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

I dumped Textbroker. I got so fed up with them. There editors were opinionated. I got great ratings from clients, yet their editors knocked me down from level 3 to a 2 and it stayed that way for 2 years. That is total BS. Plus, the work is claimed by clients, paid for, and these so called editors have not rated anything. I really think their ratings are bogus, and they go by their interests. In the 2-3 years with them, I never had one article rejected.

justateacher profile image

justateacher 3 years ago from Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Near Oz...

LindaSmith...I AgreeWith You About textBroker!

J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 3 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

***UPDATE***

I sent Scott Yates (site owner) an email this morning to help clarify a few things. Here's what I learned:

*There's no minimum payout, you can invoice once a week and we pay once per week.

*In regard to finding good writers:

"I understand that we make the writers hunt a little bit, but that's

part of our weeding out process. If a writer can figure it out, they

are probably good researchers and they can follow directions. You did

it, right? If we make it too easy, we'd get flooded with bad writers and then bad posts, so our system does work." Sounds good to me!

So if you go to the main site and scroll all the way to the bottom you will see the link for joining as a contributor. The site does not allow the link to be posted here; you have to access it from the main site.

I hope this clears up some of your questions!

ps This is NOTHING like Textbroker. There are no editors on Blogmutt; the customer either accepts your post, asks for modifications or they can altogether reject it.

JSMatthew~

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

Justateacher: This is the problem with editors on sites like Textbroker. Just because you may not appreciate ones style of writing, does not mean that they have put out sub-standard work.

I had a college English instructor who raved about an author that I could not stand, yet she criticized one that I did like, Frederick Douglass, simply because of his simplistic writing style which I love because even the poorest of poor readers out their can pick up one of his books and be able to read and understand his story.

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

Thanks J.S. Matthew for checking that out. I agree, if you are a writer, you know how to do research. A little change here and there is rare, but not unusual and that is usually because the client did not make their instructions clear. I have gotten apologies from clients because they wanted some additional information added, and they forgot to state it in their instructions. Some, you can't please, and those are the ones who want a freebie, or the moon for nothing.

After reading a little about them and checking out the site, I submitted an app.

I am curious why they need my LinkedIn profile as proof that I am a U.S. resident. I gave them my physical address-- shouldn't that be proof? Hopefully it will be okay.

Just waiting to see what will comes of it.

J.S.Matthew profile image

Good luck BrightMeadow! I have spoken (through email) several times with one of the co-founders and he has assured me that the reasons why they do the things they do are to prohibit scammers, spammers and unqualified writers. I have since posted 3 additional posts and am waiting for their approval. I have had 1 post approved and none rejected or asked for clarification. This is legit or I wouldn't risk my reputation endorsing it! Feel free to come back and share your success! Thanks for stopping by.

Hello MissJamieD! It is definitely worth checking out. I have a made some money there in a short amount of time. If you write well and love to write, one post a day at minimum is an easy $8! J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 3 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

Great! I wish you the best and please do come back when you have accepted blogs. I know there are a few people on the site that make a decent amount of money from that site alone. Never put your eggs in one basket! Diversity is important.

If you posted 3 posts per day (unlikely, at least for me) and 2 get accepted, then after a week that should be 10 posts which is $80! Not bad for doing what we love doing for a few hours! I am limited for time so I generally write about 3-5 per week. Definitely a boost to overall online income earnings! Look forward to your first accepted post!

JSMatthew~

LindaSmith1 profile image

I didn't see anything about a test. What kind of test, a writing sample?

MissJamieD profile image

MissJamieD 3 years ago from Minnes-O-ta

They give you a subject and a verb to write one sentence, but it's a tricky way to use the words they give you. You definitely have to know your grammer and vocab very well. Or research it. I am not sure if I passed, maybe I didn't, so that would be lame, but I guess I'll do some more research, if not, and try again later.

I want to do some reading, learn more about Blog Mutt, but I am now a writer for Blog Mutt.

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

I just saw something rather disturbing. It appears that if you write 1, 5, 20 posts for one client, in one week, you only earn $8.

But if you write 5 posts for 5 different clients in one week, your earnings would then be $40.

Am I correct in my understanding?

J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 3 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

@Eiddwen: Hello! Yes, I have been writing for Blogmutt now for about 2 months and I am very happy with the results. Check it out and let me know what you think. They have a very "simple" test you have to pass but if you pay attention it's really common sense and easy. I wish you the best of luck and I appreciate your comment, votes and for sharing! Let me know how you make out!

JSMatthew~

J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 3 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

@LindaSmith1: Hello! Yes, the test is a bit weird but that is to weed out content farms and wanna-be writers. Congrats on getting accepted! Here's how it works: each client picks 1 post per week per account. Therefore, if 4 posts are in cue (and say yours is the last) then your article will be posted in the order it was received (although if a client really likes a post they can change the order). So if you have 5 posts with 5 clients that accept your post for the upcoming posting then yes, you would earn the $40 right away. It's a little weird at first but I have learned to figure out a method that works for me. Some people can write 3 posts per hour which is $24.00/hr. If you send an email to Scott Yates he generally will answer you pretty quickly. You can contact him through the dashboard or email me and I can give you his address. Hope this helps!

JSMatthew~

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

I don't get it. If I write a post for one client, are you saying that other clients can see that post and decide that they want it?

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

I want to watch the video again, and look at some rejected posts. Their platform is different than what I am use to working with. It is the link thing that has me a bit rattled. It looks like we do all of the work and nothing is really built in the system.

LindaSmith1 profile image

LindaSmith1 3 years ago from USA

I emailed Scott today and he did respond quickly telling me that it could take even a few weeks to get paid depending on how fast clients take their work. But if they are only allowed to accept one post a week, OMG it could take forever to see payment.

J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 3 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

I hear you! I think it is great to spread out to different platforms and I have had a great experience with Blogmutt so far. I suggest checking everything out, figure out the site and ask questions to Scott. Once you post your first post you should be able to log into a special forum just for Blogmutt writers. There is a lot of info there and I have asked a lot of questions. The people that write on Blogmutt are similar to people on HP as far as kindness and willingness to help. I look at this as a long-term nest builder and I plan on leaving all my earnings there until I get a nice bank.

I plan on contacting the site admin to see if this is even a goal for the company in the future. Stay tuned... I appreciate your comment and votes!

@PegCole17: That's great! There is a bit to learn but not as much as HP! After a while you will get it. Scott is very good with returning emails. Be sure to check out the forum as well. If you didn't get the link you can email Scott but I think you have to submit at least 1 post first. Keep me posted! I'd love to hear when you make your first $8!

Awesome Cyndi! I can't wait to get one! You are such a creative person! I wish I had artistic talent but I really don't lol. Blogmutt is great because you can go at your own pace. I think you will like it. Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to the art.

Hi J.S. !

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing about this service.

It is useful and interesting information. I think it is great that

we have resources like this, for writers and new business owners. The stay at home and shut ins get a great opportunity to contribute to the community in some way.

I had to share, voted up +++ and tweeted. Take care

Hello anglnwu. I am glad to share this. I know that Blogmutt is very picky with writers and they aren't always hiring. I should also mention that I believe they only hire writers living in the US. I don't know if this effects you but I wish you the best! Thanks for stopping by.

Got accepted but am a little confused as to how I can begin to write. I notice there are key words. Do I use my own discretion to write to their key words and spin an article based on that? In other words, do I research a subject matter based on the key words and write according to what they're looking for? Any help will be appreciated.

J.S.Matthew profile image

Hello anglnwu and congratulations on being accepted. Blogmutt is very picky with who they allow to write on their site so consider it an honor. First and foremost, go to your Author's Dashboard (Home) and be sure to check out the forums. There are many questions answered there. Basically, you read the client's criteria which is based on their preferences for what they are looking for in a post. You have to incorporate the desired keywords into the post. You can search by subject or client under the "Research" button. Take some time exploring the site and its resources. If you still have any questions feel free to contact me. I am sure after you look around you will start earning right away! Best of success to you and please keep me posted on your progress.

Just sold my first post and I want to thank you for introducing me to blogmutt. Still a little confused though. When you clicked on the key word, it generates a specific title and on the right hand side, a google search and blog idea. Does this mean that I must write only what I read on the suggested google search with the suggested title? The one I sold--I just use the key word and spin an article based on what I think has not been covered. Thanks.

I've been reading a lot of good things about BlogMutt and have been seriously considering joining the site to earn money in hand, as opposed to the residual income I've been kind of struggling to get. I visited the site the other day and became more interested. So, what you've written here, which is very useful, has confirmed for me that the site is legit and worthy of signing up for to get some pay. Just kind of thinking about how to time it because I'm working on my new websites and doing this rev-share thing. Thanks for the very helpful info.

@anglnwu: Congratulations on selling your first post! I remember that feeling...and then you just don't want to stop! Be sure to pace yourself and don't get burned out. If you check out other posts that have been accepted by our clients you will see what they are looking for and what they are not. You will get the hang of it and you can always email Scott or check out the forums when you are not sure of something. Since your post was accepted and purchased, you are already doing it right! Good luck and please come back from time to time to let me know how you are doing.

ps Did you know that level 8 writers (10,000 points) are now considered co-owners of the site? If not, be sure to log in and check out the new press release. This is a new level of Crowd Sourcing and a great way to earn what you are worth in your time.

Best of success!

@NateB11: I am happy that this is useful to you in making a decision to earn more while you add to your writing portfolio. This site really is legit (do a Google search if you aren't sure) and you can write at your own pace once you are accepted.

Simply put, you write and submit; the client comments, rejects or accepts; your post gets published: You Earn.

My pleasure to help. Let me know when you start earning from Blogmutt and be sure to tell them that JS Matthew sent you!

Thanks for this review. I just stumbled across your article and am happy to learn of BlogMutt. Now that you've been writing for them for a year, are you still enjoying it and finding it trustworthy? If so, I will sign up. I am always on the lookout for legit sites. I like the idea of writing 350-word blog posts rather than long, in-depth articles. I could fit in a blog post every now and then when I have some time or if I just feel like it. Thanks!

J.S.Matthew profile image

Hello SmartAndFun! BlogMutt is legit and has been around for a while now. The staff is very small so you can expect quick interaction and response if you ever have a question. Scott Yates is the (co)owner and he is both funny and very attentive. I have written him several times with various questions and/or issues and he responds almost immediately in most cases. I give BlogMutt a 5 out of 5 for trustworthiness.

The customers are paying customers and the writers on the site are closely monitored. I urge you to check it out and if you get accepted, please tell them I sent you! They are always updating the site and adding new features. The community of writers is supportive much like here on HubPages. They also have a great forum section that is only open to registered writers. You never have a quota and you can choose what projects you are interested in writing, whenever you want to. I wish I wrote on the site more often but I only currently write about 1 post per month because I have a lot of other projects going on.

It is a great way to earn extra money doing what we love on our own schedule. I know a few other writers have joined BlogMutt after reading this article and I have yet to receive a single complaint. Please let me know how you make out. Heads up: the "writing test" is tricky but if you research and think, it's not that difficult. That's how they weed out poor writers. Thanks for stopping by!

Best of success,

JSMatthew~

Hi JSMatthews, I'm finally getting back to let you know I signed up and so far have written and sold five posts. Thanks for letting me know about this site! So many of the clients want technical/computer-related blog posts, which isn't my area of expertise. I prefer to find posts about decorating, clothing, and healthcare. Those are not as plentiful, so I'm not writing too much, but I think will write more as I begin to feel more comfortable with the system.

If anyone out there has technical, financial or business expertise, they could clean up over at BlogMutt -- so apply!

Thanks again for this information!

Hi SmartAndFun! I am so happy to hear of your success on BlogMutt! It really is a great opportunity, the other writers are great people and Scott Yates is both helpful and funny. I appreciate you coming back and updating your progress! Someday I hope to be a co-owner. I am happy that this Hub inspired you to write for the BlogMutt team. Here's to making money!

Hello again, J.S. Matthew. Just wanted to let you know I've written 9 posts there at Blogmutt and all of them were bought; that's over about a 5 month period of time, so I've been taking it kind of slow. However, it's been a successful venture and I like it. One thing I really like is their payment system; you get paid the following Monday after your article is bought and you request payment. It's very efficient, I think. I'm hoping to do a little more writing there soon.

Hey there NateB11! That is awesome! The best part about writing for BlogMutt is that there is no pressure and you can go at whatever pace you feel comfortable with. The payments are fast and easy. For anyone wanting to write for less than an hour, not have to worry about adding media (such as photos and video) BlogMutt is the best site for many writers.

Thank you for coming back and keeping us updated on your BlogMutt progress. Imagine how much earning potential we have over the next year?

I was accepted and have two questions:

1. How long do writers have to complete the article and turn it in?

2. The Blogmutt site indicates they pay via PayPal. Your article says payment is via a checking account. Which one is correct?

Thanks!

J.S.Matthew profile image

J.S.Matthew 2 years ago from Massachusetts, USA Author

@BabeNation: Hello and sorry for the delayed response. To answer your question briefly, there is no deadline unless specified but keep in mind many customers want a high turn over and you may be competing with other writers for the same client. Many clients take multiple posts per week. The client tends to pick their favorite post so time can be an issue.

I suggest you refer your questions to the forum on BlogMutt. Second, PayPal is linked to a checking account so they pay you to your PayPal and you can transfer the money to your checking account. If the timing is right you can get paid the next week. Keep in mind that PayPal make take up to 3-4 days to finalize the transfer to your checking account.

If you still have any questions or if this is not clear, check the FAQ's or Forums on BlogMutt. Hope this helps and I hope you are successful on the site!

@Nicholas Pollock: I wish you the best of success. Once you get accepted be sure to read the Q&A and check out the forums. There are a lot of people making decent money there and there is even an option to become part owner of the company should they ever decide to sell (you'll have to work hard and spend some time but I think it is a great opportunity).

Scott Yates is the CEO and he is a great guy and very approachable if you have any questions. Be sure to tell them JS Matthew sent you! There are many different clients who need posts in a variety of fields. As a freelancer, I am sure you will feel right at home. Let me know how you make out!
