Blood at First Sight

With Halloween approaching real soon, I decided to write a poem in honor of this dark holiday. It was an idea I had and decided to run with it. It is a poem about vampires. And no, Twilight had nothing to do to inspire this poem. I hope you hubbers enjoy this different type of poem.

She licks her lips just before she takes the first bite

She saw the perfect prey; it was blood at first sight

She craved the red liquid that pulsed through his veins

She needed her dose before she became insane

Not knowing she was far from a normal girl

He was about to enter into her world

No more human characteristics after she bit

He went into a stage of shock; the floor he hit

He felt cold, pale and was surprisingly not dead

He felt power and better life instead

Together they began to find the next to join their world

Upon the crowd, their focus turned unto a helpless girl

They approached, as if they cared who she is

A warm smile greeted them, her eyes locked on his

He played the role of the one who would bring her in

To a world of blood, sex and sin

And now there were three amongst the crowed room

The next target would come into view soon

They were discreet, keeping their secret hidden well

This world would become a different kind of hell.

A playground for those who dabble into a new realm

A place where power would consume themselves

And so the cycle continued until the room was dead

Supernatural life was now the new life to live
