Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
The book: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson introduces a teen that nobody likes, Melinda, well not since she called the cops at an end of the year summer party. The only place to be is inside her own head but, not even in her head is it safe, no, she has this tiny thought in the back of her head that keeps coming back at her...

Melinda Soridino is a teenage outcast, she is a nobody as far as most are concerned. It hasn't always been this way, last year she had friends, not all the popular friends but still friends, now she has nobody. Until Heather comes along, she's not very popular but she's determined to make it into the "crowd". Join them as they go step-by-step through the worries, troubles, secrects and truth of high school.
I liked how Speak tells about the life of many teens, of what we have to live through and what many teens fear... speaking the truth. It is hard out there and we all need a way to learn to deal with different situations.
