Books of Love

This hub is designed to show you what I feel are some of the greatest books and authors that have written about love.

Ovid

The Love Books of Ovid are just wonderful. These are translated by J. Lewis May in 1930.

Publius Ovidius Naso;better known as Ovid, lived from 43BC-17AD. He was a Roman poet and writer. Here is an example of his writings:

Hic ego qui iaceo tenerorum lusor amorum Ingenio perii, Naso poeta, meo. At tibi qui transis, ne sit grave, quisquis amasti, Dicere: Nasonis molliter ossa cubent. Here I lie, who played with tender loves, Naso the poet, killed by my own talent. O passerby, if you've ever been in love, let it not be too much for you to say: May the bones of Naso lie gently. You can go here to see the translation:

Memoirs of a Geisha

This is a love story. It is a true story and written about the time period just before and during World War 2. One heck of a love book.

It was written by Arthur Golden.

Of Love and Other Demons

This is a book I recently read. It is great! All I will say is there was a Priest and a girl: Take it from there.

Written by Gabr Garcia Marquez.

Shakespeare

Yes, I believe Shakespeare is near the top of the list when it comes to love books. Romeo and Juliet just for 1.

The Bible

I would say the greatest love book of ALL-TIME is the Bible.

There are very many love stories in the books of the Bible.

1 Corinthians 13 is the LOVE chapter. The Bible teaches us that LOVE IS the greatest thing there is. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says Now abideth faith, hope, and love;these three, but the greatest is love.
