Boundaries- A Poem
There's a part of me you'll never understand
A past full of pain, changing who I am
And though you may hold my hand
I just don't think I can
Love like you do.
Boundaries hold me back
Certain feelings I will always lack
And if they come near
I am engulfed by fear.
Why must it change me?
Twisting me around in its grasp.
Why does it control me
To believe it will not last?
And why must I give in
To the rain in this land?
This isn't me, not who I really am.
But I ask, I beg for you to stay
No matter what I do, what I say
Please don't ever go away
Because this rain has me like a slave
But towards the end of the day
I am me again.
