Branches: A Poem

Winter branches
Winter branches | Source

Brittle branches reaching upwards,

Arms bent in the winter wind,

Stark against the cloudy gray,

Hope rides inside the trunk,

Growing through its skeleton,

Warming its branches,

Until sprouting leaves return,

In the light of a golden sky.
