Bundles Of Joy.
As many of you know by now we have two new babies i.e. Tabs and Meg; mother cat and kitten.
I have never been without animals in my home and we had been without them for a good few years.
Yes the house was free of hairs ,pet toys , chewed up bits here and there, scratch marks on the furniture etc.
However to me the house was never a 100% true home ; it was lacking desperately in something !!!!
Dai was not overly enthusiastic about pets however my persistent nagging (I can be like a Terrier with a bone when I start; lol) paid off and we decided cats would be more appropriate than dogs at this moment in time.
We decided that we would have two as they'd be company for each other.
We asked around and checked in our local 'Swap Shops' but nothing going at the minute. Then one day I went to our local pet store to pick up another sack of bird food and got talking to the girl working there. She gave me a number for two ladies who rescued cats between them so after returning home I rang the number; no reply so I left an answer phone message.
About an hour later my call was returned and one thing led to another and a few days later we were shopping for a new cat bed, scratch post, cat toys, food, bowls, litter tray; oh the list is endless and we were like two excited kids because that afternoon we were picking up Tabatha and her kitten Megan (names we gave them).
Tabs was only around a year old and Meg was 8 weeks ;Tabs had been found a few months earlier in a hedge in a town about 30 miles from here !!!Poor Tabs had given birth to 5 kittens but there was only one still alive and that one of course was Meg.
A man called Dave found them and he contacted the RSPCA ; they refused to take them as they didn't have the room. Dave then rang Wendy who immediately took them in and one thing led to another !!!!
Have you ever been chosen by an animal ? We certainly were !!
The first time we ad arrived at Wendy's to see the cats Tabs took one look at us and immediately ran over for fuss. Dai picked her up first and she snuggled in so contentedly; then did same with me.
Wendy was amazed because Tabs didn't trust people at all and only came up to her when it was feeding time.
Meg was hiding in a cat house toy in the corner of Wendy's kitchen.
There were another two cats with Wendy's friend who loved only three miles away; they were Mother and Son; two ginger cats 3 yrs. and 2 yrs.
We went through the motions of going to see them because we had promised to do so but our hearts had been won over and our minds were made up. !!!
Since bringing them home with us a few days later we have realised many a time that they do not trust strangers at all but have settled in here brilliantly; and oh how we love them!!!!
Dai now has to agree with me that the house is now more of a home than before and who cuddles them most (even though Meg still likes to play 'Catch me if you can !' )?
Yes you guessed right ;it's Dai !!!
Also when the grandchildren come over the cats tend to 'hide' but it doesn't last too long as the beautiful pic of Tabs with Krystal shows.
I wasn't sure what song to choose for today but came across this hilarious one and my decision was made.
I hope you enjoy.
As many of you I know I am in the process of starting of a 'work from home' business creating greeting cars and much more called 'Erin's Box Of Secrets.' and what better way to practice than to take dozens of photos of our 'babies' and mould them into collages !!!
I am learning new techniques each day but I think that Tabs and Meg may be a little fed up of me running after them with my camera clicking away! lol !!
I hope you also enjoy the following poem of mine.
Tabatha and Megan
Oh what a pair !!!
Sweet bundles of wonder
For me to share.
x
Yes early each morning
A crunch and munch;
Eating with great gusto
Breakfast and brunch.
x
Now its time for Meg's wash
Behind each ear;
Tabs being so through
Instincts so clear.
x
Before long it's playtime
Chasing those tails;
It sure fills our hearts
It never fails.
x
Our house then becomes
One big playground;
How laughter now fills
A wondrous sound.
x
Could you maybe find room
Give a fresh start;
Allowing God's creatures
To fill your heart.
Thank you so very much for stopping by and I hope you all enjoyed today's hub.
Maybe some of you would ne interested to know that Tabs and Meg also have their own Facebook page and would be happy to welcome you all.
Have a wonderful day and here's lots of love from our little corner of Wales.
Eddy, Dai, Tabs and Meg.
