Of Islands and Writers.......

Didn't I once answer you're prayer
when you reached out for a hand
When you said - I'll never be known or
loved.....didn't I understand

When tragedy struck and the life you knew
turned inside out.....who was there
And for me as well......love yearned
and uncourted.......and who cared

When I thought ....my loss is so unique....no
one will understand my solitude
You came to me with a smile .....a hand
a touching of souls ensued

But like some unfulfilled love......some
needed touch.....we silently yearned
And like a lesson from youthful loves
each heart of us ......has learned

You stand on one shore and drop roses
into the wishing tides
And I ......look out to sea and watch
as horizon and sea collides

Clinging in serene silence and
sollitude two writers .... an opposing shore
Send me your heart I'll write you a poem
a penny a page.....nothing more

So many interpretations can be made from this poem. Lovers, man and woman/words and paper/earth and sea/prayer and answer.

No matter how I see it, I love it. This is beautiful indeed.

Hyphenbird , I wrote this thinking about how all of us writers connect on some soulful plane and yet we know so little of each other. I shoould probably explain better at the end of a poem or story....I like the mystery I guess ! Take care my dear.

Cardisa , Doesn't it seem so strange how we touch without touching? Maybe thats the curse of sharing poetry ? Do you know what I mean.....:-}

UH, apologize ahorseback, missed the new between Northern & England. Your poem at finish reminded me of some 19th century writings..I liked it very much. Perhaps we do connect on an unseen aether. Also see what our shared friend meant about you.

I feel you, Dad

Your wisdom and gentle words

From across the sea I smell

The rain that falling on your land

This is a window for our soul

Beyond the distant, beyond the forms

In the moment suddenly we live side by side

Standing in each others world

I see you, My Poetic Father

Your kindness and great compassionate heart

From across the sea I breathe

The air which surrounding you

This is the windows for your and me

Beyond the differences, beyond the similarities

In the moment suddenly we live side by side

Learning about each others world

Beautiful as always, Dad! Vote up and beautiful.
