Savage Dragon collected editions collect key issues of the Savage Dragon comic book series and they are better to read usually and flow better to, if you don't know the story of the Dragon, then here's a quick heads up for you...
Dragon is his name as he can't remember his real name as he woke up in a field burning with no recollection of he was once was and he is taken in by a member of the police force LT Frank Darling and later sees the first hand chaos of the super powered freaks who control the city of Chicago, the vicious circle run by Overlord a powerful non freak with enough power in his armour to level the city and so later Dragon joins the police force to try and get some of these super freaks off the street and into jail.
But things don't run smoothly for the Dragon as he's beat up and left for dead numerous times and limbs either blown off or hacked off, but at least he heals real fast, later in the series, he quits the police force and then joins a special force of super powered freaks to tackle the bad freaks and then all manner of otherworldy shenanigans ensue.
The collected editions of the comic books make the whole books easier to read and some come with bonus art pages and sketchbook art too from Erik Larsen the creator, writer, artist and inker of The Savage Dragon.
I'm proud to have all the earlier issues of the comic book, because I like the story and the pacing of the action and the character development scenes and the Dragon is a likeable comic book hero at times and he's been through the ringer slightly with losing a few girlfriends after being killed by numerous bad guys, the Savage Dragon is often a violent but fun comic book with a varied range of great super powered freaks and the not so great, in fact some are pathetic.
