By Invitation Only

Who then violates this sacrosanct chamber,

steps brashly into my sanctum, my visceral breath disturbed,

within my own sweet thoughts of seclusion,

untainted by a world of illusions, and attachments.

Who dares to infect with diseased mind

my fragile shell, translucent in bone and flesh,

skin over my soul and this resplendent core of being,

treading too close to divinity, too close to truth.

One clean page I cling to, one pure thought,

midst the barrage of calamitous intentions and harm,

carried by drones oblivious, po-faced artisans of the mundane,

ever tantalised by the depth of an unrecognisable parody.

And here I remain, in the solace of solitude,

withdrawn from mediocrity, and imbued by subjugation,

the very blank and mindless ignorance of thoughtless beings,

judging those of introspective learning and compassion.

What a feast they have with me, in my chosen transparency,

what critical bent on this soul's expression, tribulations,

when lives as theirs stutter and jolt from start,

'why me ?' the cry of despondent misfortune.

Do not bring your troubled mind to this place of serenity,

where infectious lies bond to truths like flies to carrion,

and be gone from my soul, in desperate plea,

for I need this sanctum, to remain just me.
