COLOR ME NOT

Color me not with the vivid patterns of your unkindly ways,

Were you here for me yesterday? You’re certainly not today.

How does one get to be like you? Heartless through and through,

Caring not for anyone and caring not for you.

Is there anything you care for or anything you love?

Does the sun rise and set by you in the sky above?

COLOR ME NOT

Color me not the shame from worrying about the past.

Nothing ever become of thinking things would last.

Do you think you are immortal or exempt from needing help?

Could it be you lack the courage to turn the card you’re dealt?

It doesn’t matter to me, whom you have been with everyday,

I was here for you yesterday and I certainly am today.

When we learn that our colors are not controlled by the thoughtless actions of others, we become vibrant. That includes when we are unselfish and remain strong and love the other person faults and all. This is lovely Diana.

Thank you, Hyphenbird. I have to remind myself sometimes it's not about me at all, but it's not always understood.

I haven't often seen the selfless dedication by others to try and keep a relationship in tact. One partner tends to give more than the other towards this goal. Yet there are also many one sided relationships where one partner takes advantage of the other in matters of not just the heart but also with abuse. Well written, this was a very poignant read, I felt your words. Voted Up for sure.
