Guardians of the Brownstones .............

Now you see them .....now you don't
as the tonal voice of the Navajo flute echoes
through the desert stone

And whether planned or not the
harmonies of nature
send me off alone

But these canyons never lie
they let us believe
whatever we will

A catacalismic drought ended an era
if you believe the science man
who's talking still

But I believe the Navajo.....they live
here as they always have
yet who can say

One day soon ....none of us will
be here .....and .the stone will
witnessed the day

Walk softly ....leave no trace behind
........treat the stone and the sand
equal and all

One day we will all blend as one
The stone the sand and man
wherever he shouuld fall

I cannot think of a better place to fall. The poem evokes wonderful images of soiltude and decisions made to walk alone into it and become one. I love this poem. (I seem to say that about many of your poems, don't I?)

Voted up and awesome. The Navajo always have lived and still live in such beauty. Glad there are still places like this which haven't been destroyed by modern age.

Congratulations, you have written a Native American prayer song. I am sure the elders will agree that it came from the right place. It was delivered in the right spirit to the right spirit. It is all about connection. The kind you feel on that rocky shore with that hearty lab.

I found this poem spiritual, timeless. As if the spirits of the Earth were speaking to us. The earth is indeed always speaking to us.

Here I go again... voted up and awesome!
