Cat, Dog and a Sparrow ( A poem for the children)
A cat was lying under a tree
on which a little sparrow was sitting,
She thought a sweet love song
would now be so befitting !
So she started to sing a love song
loudly for the sparrow to hear,
‘I am in love with you my Angel,
trust me, please come near.’
Sparrow’s eyes were in tears,
So much loving words she first heard,
The cat was singing away, wagging her tail,
looking at the tiny bird.
The sparrow looked at the cat, felt sorry,
‘Ah she is all alone , oh dear!’
Thought now that the cat loved her so much,
she had nothing to fear.
She could jolly well sit on her back ,
happily could have a ride,
It would be interesting and a great fun,
she could take so much pride.
All the birds would envy her
to see them two in love,
as they come , perch on trees
and watch them from above.
The cat kept on singing
"My heart is empty without you,
Why don’t you come quickly, sit by my side
and make my life feel new?’
A dog listened and watched everything
hiding behind a huge tree,
He shouted ‘Sparrow, fly away fast
or in a danger you will be’
As the dog came running fast,
the cat jumped on the tree.
The sparrow was up in the air flying ,
felt safe, relieved and free.
The cat shouted ‘ You stupid dog,
why you had to come?
You have spoilt my food for the day,
Oh the taste would have been awesome!’
The dog said ‘Well forget what happened,
come to me have faith and trust.
We need to know each other well,
this is one thing which is a must’.
The cat laughed loudly and said
" I must tell you first,
I can do everything in the world
but no one I can trust’.

I have intended to bring some fun in this poem. What I am basicvally trying to convey is that we should sing, laugh and dance to keep ourselves fit and well and enjoy our life to the best we can.
