Christmastime: An Acrostic Poem
Christmastime is a magical time, especially when you are a child. I have many fond memories of the season that include decorating the tree, walking in the falling snow, caroling to anyone who will listen and the overall feeling you have inside during this time.
My favorite memories are of when I was small and we would have a tradition of staying over at my grandma's house so we all could wake up there on Christmas morning. I remember the anticipation and excitement that interrupted my sleep. The moment when we were allowed to come down the stairs of a peak was the most magical of all. Ah, to be a kid!
Now that I am a mother I like to try to make the season feel magical to my children too. Of course I can't spend much, but that really isn't the reason for the season anyways. It's about family and togetherness after all.
Nowadays, my most cherished memories are of baking cookies all night with my kids and watching favorite old movies. Funny how time teaches you the real importance of life.
Happy Holidays to all of you! Hope you enjoy my little poem.
C Cheerful faces smiling

I Inventive parents, hiding gifts
S Singers are caroling
T Trees are adorned with popcorn strings
M Mistletoe taunts passersby
A Angels get their wings
S Sugar cookies twinkle with colored baubles
T Turkey roast while potatoes are mashed
I Intense shopping lines wary the shoppers
M Memories of Christmas past warm our hearts
E Enjoying every moment of everyday
