Cinderella ~ The Fairy Tale Fractured.
Everything was perfect. It was all just so.
Banter quiet engaging exchanged to and froe.
Most would have fought, if she would just bestow.
They had all gathered to see it, waiting just below.
From on the balcony she looked but did not see,
was blinded by the glitz and glam, the fancy frivolity.
Waving to the crowd, coyly scanning the aristocracy
she didn’t notice the one of worth with true philosophy.
And so she made her choice, the one she thought the finest.
She never took into account that one should have kindness.
Into the future she went to become known as your highness.
Years went by and she began to feel, well, a lack of greatness.
The beautiful ones, the chosen few, the cream so to speak
are at most times in actuality, well, really rather bleak.
The simple man that at first may appear to be meek
was all along the hidden one her heart knew not to seek.
And so comes a close to this little fairytale fable.
Choose wisely boys and girls while you are still able.
Don't look to shallow values, clothes, looks and labels.
Be sure you select qualities that are more true and stable.

The classic tale of "Cinderella" was my favorite as a girl. It is a wonderful story of triumph, hope, and dreams coming true in the face of adversity. It has been and still is being remade over and over because the themes contained within address the fears, wants and desires that live in the very heart of us all.
