Come Sit By Me A While: My Sweet Feathered Friend.

Well it has certainly been a while since I last invited you for a cuppa and a chat ; far too long to be honest!!

Anyway a pleasure to be here today and to share a little more of my life with you.

However before we settle help yourselves to your tea or coffee and also one of these cup cakes or Cherry cakes.

Little ones having fun.

Busy cooking !!!

Having fun.

Last Saturday I had my grandchildren Krystal, Riley and Lucas over ; after having lunch they decided they would like to do some cooking so this was just what we did.

Oh how wonderful it was to have the chatter of little ones fill the house and also all my cooking utensils whether needed or not were out all over the kitchen . How wonderful indeed hence today's cakes !!!!

As many of you know I work two shifts daily caring for two wonderful youngsters with special needs on their journey to and fro School ;the same school as it happens that I attended many moons ago .

The house where I grew up in was just behind this school but the road we used to get to the school didn't take us past the house and it was virtually out of sight. However one day around a year or so ago we were asked to go to the back of the special needs unit and we had to drive past this house; it was strange as I hadn't seen it since I was small. However I kept my thoughts to myself.

Again around three months ago we needed to get to the back of the unit once again but this time I was totally astounded ; there was no house there ;the large garden , garage and absolutely everything had been bulldozed to the ground ;not a blade of grass was left standing ; it was simply a site of stone and rubble. Again I hid my astonishment and carried on with my day as usual with no one else the wiser.

That night after Dai came in from work I told him and as I shared my shock I felt a surge of well being take over !!!

Today I know that the community where I grew up had got together and planned this but due to certain clauses it could not be carried out until now .

I cannot for the life of me put into words how truly wonderful it is to know that not a stone has been left standing ; the place where so much awful and dreadful abuse took place has been wiped off the face of the earth.

I thank these wonderful people from the bottom of my heart for what they have done for me and also in the memory of my beautiful and so musical talented sister Val.

God bless them all !!!!

Val with all the prizes she won for her beautiful singing voice and myself and my beloved Lassie.

Source

Before sharing my poems I would like to share a little memory with you all !!

There were two majestic pillars at the entrance to the house and on these pillars were two ornamental white doves .

Despite everything I have always loved white doves and you may have noticed that I very often include them in my images.

Deep into the nearby Commins I would walk my Beagle Lassie and there was a clearing where I would sit and read my latest story book while Lassie would happily forage through the nearby thicket as happy as could be !!!

A little further on there was a tiny cottage in which lived Mr and Mrs Poole ; a lovely couple who I would chat to for ages and in their garden there were always some beautiful white doves and I have always connected these precious birds with happiness and beauty.

Right now onto my poems and I hope you all enjoy !!!

A celestial grace

a virginal pose

purity paramount

my sweet feathered friend..........................

A trust reignited

blossoms so fragrant

hues sublime

my sweet feathered friend......

From high ground to low

spring to Autumn

Summer to winter

my sweet feathered friend................................

Each sunrise caresses

as sunsets mature

a heart that sings

my sweet feathered friend.......

An infants light footsteps

instinctive resilience

secrets to share

my sweet feathered friend...................

You laughter echoes

joys clear and free

pains so lifted

my sweet feathered friend...................

Treasures a-glistening

promises wondrous

young dreams recognised

my sweet feathered friend......................

Fresh goose pimpled flesh

a plethora of senses

strength in abundance

my sweet feathered friend........

A sight of amazement

bulldozed to the ground

nothing left standing

my sweet feathered friend......................

A rush so awesome

senses now elevated

my joys shine to heaven

my sweet feathered friend.........

A life now wholesome

an acceptance so whole

you belong in my heart

my sweet feathered friend........................

Heartbeats almost dancing

Emotions rekindled and clear

Carried on the tides of eternity

Precious and tender my feelings

Shared by the winds of time

Those deep echoes

Tender are life's winds

Each precious dew drop glistens

Softness becomes strength.

Emotions now true

Deserved that elevation

To hope to believe.

Walk through each new day

Those moments oh so precious

Feel that soothing balm.

A momentum shared

The graceful winds of time heal

To share and to care.

I hope that you all enjoyed today's visit and maybe one day a home and this time a happy home may be built on what today is simply a pile of rubble of no significance whatsoever.

I wish you all a wonderful day and lots of love from my little corner of Wales.

Eddy, to have the reminder of the pain you endured for so many years wiped off the face of the Earth is so symbolic. Now you are totally free! I can only imagine how light your heart must feel now. The song you chose is the perfect selection for this final lifting of your troubles.

Awesome hub, Eddy. I'm so happy for you. Wow!

Oh thank you as always Sha ;although I found out around three months ago I needed time before sharing and now is the right time for me !!

I need time to mull it over; time to digest .

I have learnt to listen to my being; by today I understand my mind ; understand that voice from within.

I said that I cannot find words to express how I feel but I know that with you all my blessed hubfamily I do not need words because you understand . Thank you again Sha not just for this comment but for your friendship and I send you a whole loads of love and hugs from Wales.

Again as with all my hubs I do hope that this one will help someone else out there who is finding their road a little rocky. Take care Sha and have a wonderful day.

What a beautiful hub, Eddy! It's nice to see some of your grandchildren having fun in the cooking or playing!

I am happy that the reminder of your past has been bulldozed to the ground. That place had been the witness of a lot of abuse and sadness and now it's not there anymore. It's very symbolic of what you worked to do with your mind since a long time.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful poetry and pictures today!

Voted up, beautiful and awesome!

I wish you a beautiful day!

PS : I will miss your beautiful poetry for a while because I am just overwhelmed with work at the moment :-(

Thank you Joelle so much for this kind and caring comment.

I had never ever thought that this would happen and it has most definitely touched me.

It is so nice to know that people cared enough to do this for us and the relief is indescribable. I am sorry you are not going to be around for a while Joelle but wish you all the best in all you do. Lots of love for you all the way from my little corner of Wales.

What a cathartic moment that must have been - to discover a blank space where once there stood something which had bad memories for you.

I very much enjoyed this Hub. Your images are as always, gorgeous and I am sure the cherry cake and cup cakes both tasted delicious! I bet the little ones left only crumbs in the tin.

Have a lovely day

Sally

Eddy, the poems are as beautiful as we've come to expect from you, but knowing the story behind the words and impressive images makes it all the more poignant. Very moving, I absolutely loved it, especially the image with the dove against the sky. Take care and my best to you.

First, I always enjoy reading your posts as they are so uplifting. I can only imagine how elated you were to see the destruction of the building. It is wonderful to leave it all behind. Glad you got to spend time with your lovely grandchildren and had fun cooking. Your share on the dove's meaning is very touching.

Eddy a wonderful poem reliving your pain is not an easy task but it is good to see the structure where all presumably took place is no more. You sure are feeling happy as a lark today and it shows in the poem.

Thanks, my friend for sharing your memories.

Voted up and have a great day. Sharing this as well.

Does our past make us the stronger Woman of today? I'd like to think so Eddy. Parts of my own unhappy childhood are kept buried, deep down in a special place in my mind. I think the older we get, we are able to come to an understanding and forgiveness.

You Poem is a Beautiful, Poignant Tribute.

Good afternoon Eiddwen, a lovely story and a beautiful poem. The subconscious is strange. We do things (speaking, writing, action, etc.) without knowing why and sometimes we find out, sometimes we do not. Thumbs up and shared.
